Jeff Burke's love for plants started at a very young age, 5 years old to be exact. His father was transferred from Corpus Christi to Caracas, Venezuela at that time. Jeff's love from plants came from his father as he had a huge greenhouse with plants such as orchids, palm trees, bird of paradise and several other varieties of plants found in the jungles of South America. During Jeff's dad's vacation times they would travel the country going into the amazon, jungles, and the rain forest to view and enjoy nature.
Budget Landscaping can handle any residential landscaping job, large or small. Retainer walls, tropical landscapes, beautiful walkways and even waterscapes of all types from waterfalls to ponds to streams like the one pictured on the right. Budget Landscaping knows landscaping in the Houston area, and we understand the climatic conditions. We will recommend foliage that grows well and can handle the varying weather conditions and climatic changes in the Houston and Galveston area.
At Budget Landscaping, we bring as much enthusiasm to our commercial landscaping work as we do our residential landscaping work. I can highly recommend Jeff Burke and Budget Landscaping. My husband and I were unfortunate enough to take in some flood waters during Hurricane Harvey (Fall 2017). The flood waters came up through the floor around the commodes. We were not overly concerned; as, we did not live in a flood zone. We also felt the flood waters were a result of a 1 in 1,000 year storm.
At the time we felt the flood waters entered the house through our backyard. Fall 2018 we found ourselves wading through water over our ankles during a particularly rainy period. We set up a pump and pumped the water to the street, while we began looking for recommendations for a company capable of installing a good drainage system. Jeff Burke and his crew at Budget Landscaping were highly recommended.
They came in and installed an excellent drainage system for a reasonable price. While undergoing exterior renovations a few months later, we discovered the brick wall in the side alley was crumbling and falling. In actuality the Harvey waters had entered the house through the side alley. All the mortar and cement between the slab and bottom row of bricks was missing.
It had been washed away and the brick wall lacked support. Additionally, the dirt in the side alley had been moved around. Jeff Burke and his crew were contacted immediately. Mr. Burke rushed over to inspect the alley. Additionally, at no cost, he came to the house and met with the structural engineer our flood insurance sent over to inspect and report on the situation.
Following the engineer's inspection, Budget Landscaping installed a second excellent drainage system. We no longer have drainage issues. Jeff Burke is professional and knowledgeable. He is also personable and empathetic. His crew is experienced and respectful. The company strives to do their very best.
