Cedar Grove Garden Center The history of the Cedar Grove Garden Center dates back to the late 1890's. It has been in the Cox family for 5 generations. We have grown from a small floral shop into a full-service landscape design company and retail garden center. Philip's son Theodore Francis Cox loading a tree for delivery and planting at his nursery, located at 56 Alexander Avenue (across the street from his father's nursery).

Cox's Landscaping began at 32 Brookfield Road, Upper Montclair, at the turn of the century with Thomas' son Philip.

I just happened to pass by looking for some English ivy but I left with so many beautiful unique plants. This is going to be my new plant nursery that I visit regularly.

I LOVE Cedar Grove Garden Center. They have a wonderful wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants. Here you can see my fiddle leaf and dumb cane which have flourished inside and the flowers I planted outside my mothers house which bloomed beautifully by the end of summer. Worth a visit!

Purchased Split leaf philodendron, umbrella tree, rubber plant, fish food fertilizer, planter liners, & neem oil. Big place, great variety. If you want to follow along on my plant journey or a plant parent who likes to do swaps, checkout @living.as.designed or @propagate.nj on instagram!

I honestly give their flower and plant selection 5 stars. Also, they were very well care for and in great condition. Their prices were average. After purchasing about $200 worth of flowers, we had a frost. Everything died. We lost it all. Many people did. I heard that many garden centers and Lowe's were offering exchanges for the dead flowers. They felt terrible that this happened, as it was very unexpected in mid May.

I emailed and called CGGC quite a few times and have received no replies. I am not blaming them for the frost. Mother Nature happens. However, it would have been nice of them to take on the caring position of these other places. Exchanging the flowers would have been lovely or even maybe giving us half credit. Something. During these unfortunate times, we are at home. We were all trying to beatify our homes. I thought they would be more understanding of this. I guess we'll dig up the dead ones and spend more money elsewhere.

This nursery is just amazing. The selection of shrubs, flowers, trees, as well as garden tools and all is fantastic. It might not look like from the road but it goes on down hill. They also have a greenhouse with more flowers down stairs. The stuff if helpful and I found their prices fair.
