Our staff of 90 are among the most knowledgeable in the business. Many have over 10 years of experience and have distinctions including Illinois Certified Nursery Professionals, Illinois Certified Professional Florists, and more. Countryside was created in 1959, when Bill and Katherine Hameder made a business of sharing their knowledge of, love and compassion for flowers, shrubs and trees with many local patrons. In 1973, Richard Harms and James Riedl purchased Countryside and have expanded the nursery to 28 acres.
Countryside Flower Shop, Nursery and Garden Center is an independent retail garden center and florist offering everything from fresh cut flowers, annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs to full-service landscape design and installation. Through our talented and creative staff, hard work, and excellent customer service Countryside has earned awards in Landscape Design, Floral Design, and is recognized by the community as "Best of the Fox" for many years.We look forward to meeting you and thank you for considering joining our team!

Awful landscaping install previously and currently a horrible lack of communication. It turns out the landscaping I had done years ago was the wrong placement, nothing is growing as it should have, 2 trees have died in the same place. The old designer is no longer there (shocker). So I got a new consult thinking it would be better, but sadly, the designer I had (Barb) was AWFUL with timely communication.
I get they are busy, but after multiple attempts via text, email, and phone and to go WEEKS without hearing a peep despite being promised I would have the info I needed for an estimate to an add-on gave me such a bad feeling that I am going with an entirely new company. What a shame; I have already spent thousands of dollars on their plants and services and after giving them a second chance, I was prepared to spend thousands more. Not now. Countryside, please ensure your staff gets back to your customers as promised or be prepared to lose more customers.

Our family regularly sends flowers to each other and friends. Every time we order from online companies like 1800 flowers or similar, we're usually disappointed with the outcome. I believe they outsource their business to these local flower shops and probably take a portion of the profit anyway. And the arrangements never look like the picture. So I decided to just order directly from the flower shop itself in hopes that it would look more like the photo since it's directly from their store.
I live in a different state than the recipient so I chose Countryside based on the arrangements they had available on their website and the reviews. They looked absolutely gorgeous! And still do a few days later. I am so happy and will start ordering directly from local shops from now on. The arrangements definitely looks like the picture this time, and the recipient was so happy with them! Thank you Countryside

I called to schedule a delivery for valentines day to my wife's office. This was by far the best arrangement I've seen given the constraints I supplied about likes/dislikes. I've been giving the same instructions for years but Countryside Flower Shop absolutely nailed it! I'm super impressed they were able to source and incorporate the Monstera deliciosa. Well done!

I searched for a florist near my desired delivery address and selected Countryside because of the good reviews. They delivered to my recipient the next day, who shared a picture with me. I was a bit disappointed with the result and share this image from their website of the Teleflora standard size (smallest) arrangement I ordered, next to the photo of what my recipient received.
There were no lilies included - the primary flower of this basket - and nothing substituted to make up for it. A a couple of other flowers in the arrangement as pictured on their website were missing such as the button chrysanthemums. No butterfly was included on the basket, an aesthetic element that would have brought a little cheer to a recovering person.
I was glad to see that a little bit of the variegated foliage was represented, along with the gerbera and alstroemeria. I appreciate the prompt local delivery which was an added charge.

We used Countryside Flower Shop for our wedding bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and cake topper for our wedding on 9/12/2020. We were extremely impressed by the incredible attention to detail and professionalism all the way through. The flowers were all delivered on time the day of our wedding and were absolutely stunning! Even better than what I had hoped for! I would highly recommend them for any events you have coming up.
