When clients hire Designing Eden, you're not just a number. You become one of the family. Each landscape becomes a part of us because we put a little piece of our heart and soul into each creation we produce. As you'll see from our portfolio, we've been creating landscapes all over Fairfield and Litchfield County Connecticut for quite a while. WE ARE NOT a jack of all trades type of company. We provide landscape design, landscape installation and garden maintenance services and I'd say we're pretty good at it.

Designing Eden llc is pleased to be celebrating its 30th year in the Green Industry under the direction and leadership of Richard Schipul. Designing Eden started as a landscape maintenance business in Trumbull, Connecticut. As the demand for services expanded, Richard perceived a need for environmentally sensitive landscape design and development.
You do not need a license or degree to call yourself a landscape designer. Landscape designers come from all different backgrounds. Some are college educated; some are nationally certified through the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, while others have no formal training at all. This raises a question if you are a consumer.
In over 30 years, I've never met a potential client who asked for a high maintenance garden. Not once! A no maintenance landscape doesn't exist. Sure there are gardens that will require less maintenance than others but when I mention plastic plants, people seem to cringe. The fact of the matter is, even a garden with plastic plants needs ongoing maintenance.

Richard Schipul is an incredibly knowledgeable landscape architect. He knows his plants, bushes and trees instincutually knowing where each belongs. Although he makes it look like instinct, I know he has attended school and earned a degree in his field. He is honest and fair and his work is exceptional. I would recommend Designing Eden to anyone who wants to turn their home into a castle with the proper plantings and to help with property improvement.

Rich has an incredible mastery of Landscape Design. We hired him in 2018 to design a plan for our property that focused on using native, sustainable plants, and the end result was incredible. The installation has taken place in phases based on our budget, and we are constantly getting comments about our property since the project began. I can't recommend him highly enough!

Richard has a wonderful eye for design. I was looking for low maintenance landscaping that was natural to the area and would look beautiful, and he understood my needs perfectly. His prices were very reasonable as well! I was thrilled with the results and will continue to use Designing Eden for landscaping projects going forward!

We recently moved to CT from the East End of Long Island and Rich came to the rescue. We did not have a monster job but what he suggested and implemented was certainly a 5 Star project. We are so glad we decided to work with Rich and I plan to keep adding to our initial plan. Rich is so helpful and informative, job was done on time and whenever I have a question he is there for me.
