Services
We are now Switzer Landscaping. Nothing's changing with our service to you! We have a new name, and that's it. This is a family business, and reputation matters in a small community! We think Jerry and the team built a fantastic model for over 40 years as horticultural and landscape specialists, so we're going to keep a good thing growing!
Many of our fruit trees are already bearing - you don't have to wait years. We do get lots of questions about pollinators. Generally bees work to transfer needed pollen from up to 2 miles away and pollination partner trees are not necessarily required on your own property. This may not apply to isolated rural areas.
We are pleased to bring you our full nursery catalog to you to shop or just browse at your convenience. Currently we are set up for local/regional delivery or for no additional cost you may pick up your plants/trees at Roots. We grow a variety of quality trees, evergreens, shrubs, and perennials which do well here.
Our company offers a full line of landscape services from a new property to small and large remodel work. We specialize in projects where we can offer on-site design with full construction followup. Our services will allow you, the property owner, to specify exactly what you want. Then, we will help you with a creative design.

Stopped in for fall mum's and was pleasantly surprised with a gorgeous coffeehouse and Art studio inside. Me and my youngest enjoyed some homemade yogurt parfaits and great iced coffees. Clean, well ran, quiet and perfect music playing. We will be back for sure, great neighborhood place

This new garden center replacing the one that closed, has pulled out all the stops to make it a destination place. Maybe it's the result of the lockdowns ending that have made people even more focused on creating a green space in their yards or adding new plants to their outdoor and indoor spaces as the spring weather makes it nearly mandatory to be outside or bring the outside inside. Roots captures your attention from the start with the bright colored flowers, towering plants and deck with tables and chairs for those waiting on others to find what they need, or just wanting to take a break from the non-stop visual treats. Switzer Landscaping has separated their nursery under the Roots Garden Center name. It's become a place they want people to linger, the ask questions, to explore.

It carries exactly the things you'd expect: evergreens, shrubs, trees, flowering plants, both for indoors and outdoors, all that are grown and sold with Montana weather in mind. Roots isn't just plants. There's a cooler with fresh cut flowers and an invitation to go in and explore; there's art by locals in the mini gallery with a variety of wall art and unique vases and pots.

As you walk in past the nice outdoor deck with its tables and chairs, there's inside seating as well and quickly discover it isn't just for those wanting a break from the plants. Roots has a Black Dog Coffee shop with their Stumptown coffee making it ever so easy to come by for that as you meet with friends, take a break from exploring, or gear up for the exploration to come. Roots is worth visiting and exploring and maybe finding a way to make your own place a respite from the craziness
