If I could rename every day of the year, I would look out at my gardens and choose something that was blooming, something beautiful, something rich and full of color that appeared on that very day. You can do that, you know. A well-planned garden never fails to offer inspiration and beauty every day of the year. That is the calendar by which I would like to live my life. He lived that life. Kurt Bluemel, Inc. began as a Landscape Design Company with commercial properties that were over several 100 acres as well as residential properties of exclusive gardens less than half an acre. The company achieved acclaim because of its great attention to detail providing unique and hardy perennials and durable hard-scapes.
Kurt Bluemel, Inc. is a nursery grower and supplier of ornamental grasses, bamboo, perennials, ferns, sedges, rushes and other exotic nursery plant materials throughout the world. Since 1964, we have created our success with two very simple, yet complex strategies; following strict principles of horticulture and defining the market through plant introductions.
ROLE: Each day I head up our nursery operations as the general manager and grower. I grew up on this nursery and it is as much a part of me as I am of it. I had the distinct pleasure to work with my grandfather for more than a decade in landscaping, growing, and relationship building (with soil and people)!
