Steve is a walking book of horticulture knowledge. Great customer service by him and the rest of the team. Worth the 2 hour drive. Bring large truck and trailer because they have very cool unusual plants and trees.

Steve has been wonderful to work with. We had him come out to our new home for a consult because our new lot is completely different from our previous home's lot. We learned so much from Steve and were provided a recording of our conversation for future reference. After meeting with Steve we made an appointment to visit the nursery. We received further consultation and guidance on plant selection.

It was amazing! In our last home we simply bought plants at Home Depot, then came home and tried to figure out where to put them. Steve had guided us so that there's no guessing game. It was well worth the money to get the initial consult, and we're happy to buy plants locally in McFarland.

They had a great selection and were really helpful. We needed a tree for our backyard and they took the time to see what we wanted and what would grow well.

Steve and the entire crew are a wealth of knowledge. We are knew to landscaping, and have many unique challenges on our property. We want to choose products that are environmentally responsible for our neighbors, and will also provide us with good investment in our home. Steve and his crew was invaluable in helping us decide on items, and they are very fairly priced!

Though it's off the beaten path, the Landscape Designs Nursery in McFarland is one of my favorite places to purchase trees and shrubs. The nursery is tucked into a forest, protecting the plants from hot sun in the summer and the icy winds in the winter, so the tree and shrubs I purchase are always in premo condition. The selection of plants is excellent as well (see the website for in-stock inventory) and if they don't have a tree or shrub that I am looking for, they will order it for me. Kristine, the nursery manager, is uber-helpful and always is able to answer my questions about how to care for a particular cultivar. One word of caution, if the weather is bad, call ahead to make sure the nursery is open. They often close in inclement conditions.

I found Steve's nursery somewhat randomly, but I knew I had stumbled on a rare nursery as soon as I arrived. The unique varietals and Steve's friendly approach set his nursery apart from others. I was not aware some of these plant species existed. Steve opened my eyes to new possibilities for my small lot.
