We've used Lounsbury for a number of landscaping projects. They always perform excellent work at a reasonable price. They're now scheduled to rebuild a retaining wall for us this fall. Andy Lounsbury provided us with several good ideas for the project.

Great for landscaping needs, i personnaly got three ton of dirt. They were very helpful in how the scales worked and were not angry when missed the green light on building. Just had me do it again thanks for your patience again and I will be back.

Good product, good price and very friendly staff. Had to make a couple trips to get 3 1\2 tons of river rock. I received excellent service every time.

Andy's design was spot on - just what I'd asked for: low maintenance, deer resistant. Love it! The crew who did the work was more than considerate, polite and helpful. Couldn't be happier with our landscaping project!

Overall good experience and a great place to buy material in bulk. I needed between 1/2 to 3/4 tons of limestone gravel for some landscaping work. They charge $10 /load, so I'm unsure how they would provide this service for small batch orders. They weight your truck pre-load and post-load to get you an accurate invoice. The only reason for the 2 star deduction - the limestone wasn't exactly what I was expecting.

I know limestone can vary in color and I had phoned in before arriving to confirm the color. I also stopped by in person to inspect. I was told it would be white or slightly off-white. The limestone was likely not thoroughly cleaned, if at all, as once I got it deposited in my yard, mixed with trap rock, hosed it down, it became clear that it varied wildly in color from white to brown. Yea. not cool.

Was in need of some mason sand for a pool and came across Lounsbury after getting a busy tone with Saylorcreek over the course of 4 hours. Lounsury staff answered the phone within 2 rings, handled questions (super nice) and 90 minutes later I had 5 tons of sand in my driveway. I know they do great landscaping work-did my home 22 years ago.glad they had the materials I needed. Highly recommend.

Easy to get a pickup truck load of rock and off to work quickly. Prices are fair and comparable to other places in the greater Des Moines area. Staff is friendly, and were helpful and patient with my questions.

These guys do a top notch job and their work holds upextremely well. Both owners hold engineering degrees and have been in business for decades servicing everything from basic jobs to the needs of the most exclusive homes in Iowa. We had them landscape around our whole house and replace a builder grade deck with a paver patio surrounded by boulders, unique rock, plants, and limestone steps and edging.

Can't tell you how pleased we have been, how well it has held up over the years, how it stands out amongst the run of the mill landscaping, and how many compliments we have received. They are worth every penny and their stellar, local word of mouth reputation keeps them busy year round.

I purchased some topsoil for a raised bed from Lounsbury. I am completely satisfied with the soil and its quality. It was also really nice that they delivered; it saved us a lot of headaches. The only complaint that I would have is their communication. The day of delivery, I wanted to call to confirm when delivery would be. I got voicemail three times in a row. Also, when placing the order, the person was rushed and didn't provide much for details.

The receptionist on the phone might not know she is a receptionist. She didn't speak clearly and seemed rushed. She never introduced herself either. After making the purchase, she never informed me of my total despite taking my credit card information. She then called me back, again without introducing herself asking if I wanted my product delivered today.

I had to ask who she was. The rock that was delivered was great rock but it would have been intelligent of them to recommend waiting a few days until the rock dried so it would spread better. I now have clumps of rock all over the place that I will need to pay someone to come in and fix. I realize the seller can't explain everything, but taking care of a customer and providing recommendations will keep people coming back for more.
