Madison Earth Care Landscaping

First I would like to say that the office staff and the onsite crew were responsive and courteous thats why I am giving two stars verses a one star. The actual quality of the on-site work and supervising follow-up was well below average. I opted to go with Madison Earth Care and pay their higher prices because I was expecting a professional high quality landscape finish (I had three different quotes and theirs being the highest of the three).

I hired MEC because I felt that the first design rep. that came out to my home was knowledgable and lead me to believe that MEC could handle this size job and new how to do it correctly. That did not happen. it started with poor communication from the the start date and when the construction materials were to be delivered (we had gardens, larger tree plantings and new front and back walkways put in lots of material), all plants-the wrong plant color varieties delivered, not adjusting the plant costs when they couldn't get the size they quoted and brought smaller plants until I pointed it out, the garden beds not proportionately sized or straight, plants not being placed correctly, soaker hoses put in flooded the gardens and then quality of hoses very cheap- parts of them just severed causing over an under watering in the gardens, remnants of the walkway pavers being thrown off into my wooded area, the miss design plan for one area of the garden lead to a major change to a stone wall and granite steps which they charge for, damage to my existing granite steps, lack of finishing touches especially at the end of walkway left with pointed jagged stones a walking hazard.

There are other things but I think you can get the idea of the disappointment. The owner did come out after my request, had a different crew come to correct some of these things, I was told by the owner that since the current temps were too cold to move the plants now that they would return in the spring and finish correcting the miss plantings, I was also promised some general care instructions - neither happened.

So here I am two seasons later still having to deal with fixing the work of MEC. This was no small job, and very expensive, I was told this was one of their larger jobs, I would have hope that MEC would have followed-up, unfortunately they have a disappointed client and lost a great deal of future work on this property. My goal was to support a local business and build an ongoing relationship for future needs, sadly MEC did not follow through. Still hopeful they will.

Helpful staff in the store. The store has a lot more than just plantsthey have all the gardening supplies needed along with tools and propane. Inside they have many decorative gifts.

Great place to get flowers. Extremely friendly and they even have a wonderful store dog that greets you and you almost feel like you're part of the family.

Great location, nicely stocked and super friendly staff. Good price on propane refills too.

Such a great spot. Loved the shade of the pit buildings for browsing stock and supplies. Very friendly and the most adorable gift shop.

Highly recommended for landscaping services! Prior to contacting Madison Earth Care, my backyard pooled a large amount of water. Jay and his team from Madison Earth Care were able to grade the backyard and flow all of the water away from my home. Great job and will be using Madison Earth Care for future projects.

Highly recommended for landscaping. I had inquired about a project and reached out to several "recommended" landscapers. Out of all whom I contacted, Jay of MEC was the most professional. He showed up on time, provided a clear written estimate for services we discussed which was HUGE. Other landscapers didn't show up on time, gave estimates which were ambiguous, which leaves room for "surprises".

While estimates are estimates, Jay did a fantastic job and was spot on. Additionally at the last minute I requested additional landscaping and Jay and the crew came through. When you find a good contractor/landscaper, you keep them. MEC is a keeper.

Great people working here very helpful. Very personable. They will take care of anything you need landscaping related. Very Recommended!

We had them landscape our yard 3 years ago. It is just beautiful! Our yard blooms all summer. We get compliments all the time. The only problem is that the entire neighborhood now thinks I'm a plant expert and asks for my advice! Absolutely would recommend to anyone (and do all the time)!

Taylor is great. I went in to see her on July 3rd to see if they could deliver 7 yds of mulch so I could spread it over the long week end and she brought it by 30 minutes later and placed it exactly where I asked her to. I will always buy my mulch from Madison Earth Care.

My latest "discovery" : Best grass seed probably ever. Sold under their own label. Really. Great mulch, composted manure, etc,

If you have not been in there, you need to stop by. Best kept secret in Madison. A great store with so many ideas and options.

Just stopped into the new garden center and gift store. What a beautiful spot! They did a wonderful job renovating the space and have lots of lovely, locally made gifts. I got some beautiful pumpkins and mums. It is near the Madison circle where Hockings garden center used to be. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Will definitely be back
