Meet Chopper, the friendliest dragon fly that I have ever met in my life. He started to come over every time I fed the fish and landed right next to me. He even brought his girl friend with him sometimes. Now we become best friends, I can pet him, talk to him, take pics, and even have him land on my hand.

See review from 8/7/21 So after I was scammed by pond gnome, on the recommendation of a real pond expert, I added a UV sterilizer for about $200 bucks. Completely cleared up our pond water. The clarity was terrific. Why did I spend near $1500 with the gnome? got scammed. Although the clarity of water was great, the flows were not. I suspected a blockage in the lines.

I had our landscaper cut the pipe directly adjacent to the new valve the gnome installed and this is what we found. see photos. The landscaper charge was $150 plus $65 in parts and the pond is working as good as new. The landscaper also replaced the the drain line that was plugged with the bio balls installed by the gnome. $500 fixed the problems the gnome caused. Fool me once, your fault, fool me twice.never buyer be ware

We just purchased our current house a little over a month and a half ago which had an existing beautiful Natural Water Garden with a fish pond. We found out from the previous owners that The Pond Gnome was the company that installed it and helped maintain it previously. I contacted The Pond Gnome and talked to Ashley who was super nice and very helpful.

She put me in touch with Damian who was also very nice and gave all sorts of helpful information on our specific Water Garden/Fish Pond and filters. He had the original plans and info pulled up when he was talking to me over the phone. He let me know about the service options available from them and I chose to start with a one time clean up maintenance and to get even more pointers and will be using them quarterly if we are able to maintain it ourselves in between.

He let me know Steve would be the person coming. Steve (Estevan) came out today. He was so helpful, patient, and kind and gave us all kinds of helpful information for us to maintain our Natural Water Garden/Fish Pond. You can tell Steve, Damian, and Ashley really care about their customers, their jobs and what they do with the water gardens and fish ponds. Very honest and so much good info. The prices are very fair as well for all the work that is done.

The pond gnome performed a 're-model' on my already existing pond several years ago. During that time, there was damage caused to part of the plumbing that connected to the pond leveler. This was noted as water could be seen accumulating outside of the pond in the adjacent soil. This was pointed out and a 'repair' was made at the time. The owner himself was present when this was discussed. Years later, water is accumulating in the same area and the pond gnome was called to investigate. Again, it was noted that the plumbing had failed where it is attached to the leveler.

Although I pointed out to the gentleman onsite that this was the same problem that was addressed previously, he adamantly denied that they would be responsible for such shoddy work. I reiterated that this 'work' was performed by 'the pond gnome' or some subcontractor that was called in to fix it. He called his boss, the owner, who came out to investigate the issue.

According to Damien (the original onsite investigator), the owner, Paul had no recollection of this work and denies that it was performed by them. His reason was that the work done was by the original contractor. This is impossible because the original contractor would not have created a loop of PVC pipe into the concrete leveler (SEE PICTURES). It is obvious that there was some damage and a 'work around' was implemented.

The pond gnome was the only person to do pipe work on the pond's leveler after its initial construction. I received an invoice for a new construction of the leveler from them. No communication or discussion. It is disappointing that I did not receive at the least a phone call from the owner to discuss the work. It is disappointing that he can not own up for the work performed and uses plausible deniability as the excuse.

If you decide to use 'the pond gnome' for any work, my recommendation is to take pictures of any work done and any damage that may have been caused by the work so that you have documentation. But, to be honest, I would avoid doing any business with them since there are other, honest, individuals in this unique business with which you can deal and have your expectations met.

In response to your response: Please take a look at the photos. No primary construct would fit pipes like that. You can see that the incoming pipe from below is perfectly parallel to the hole in the leveler's concrete. They are going to curve it in a loop and connect it to the leveler? The company that installed the original pond did the entire yard.

I understand your point of saying there were no complaints of a leak prior, but there was a leak immediately after the remodel was performed. This was addressed by Paul and I was verbally told that it was from damage to the leveler. I did not know at that time that I should demand some form of documentation. Either Paul has a poor memory or like I mentioned initially, he uses plausible deniability to avoid dipping into his profits.

I've already consulted with 2 other 'pool' repair companies and their first question was 'who performed this reconstruction?' As far as being 'rude' to your foreman, I politely warned him that calling work 'shoddy' when it was your own company that performed or oversaw it is a very dangerous position to take.

The Pond Gnome created our backyard stream in 2006. We have been satisfied customers ever since. Their office communication is immediate and responsive and their service is excellent. We have never regretted getting our stream instead of a swimming pool. The sound of running water is soothing to the soul and the design and naturalness of our stream puts a smile on my face everyday. Thanks, Paul and Barbi and all the hard working techs that service our stream!

I originally had some issues with The Pond Gnome and I gave them a 1 star review. They went over and above what many other companies would do and sent me a refund of the consultation fee plus a 1 page hand typed letter from Paul about the confusion so I am updating my review to 5 stars. In hindsight I feel like I should have continued to communicate with The Pond Gnome to clear up the confusion and would recommend their services based upon their response to this situation and photos of their past work.

I bought a house with an artificial waterfall that was on its last legs and finally gave out. The Pond Gnome helped me find the newer version of the same pump that fit in the restricted space. Install was done quickly and well, despite some tricky wiring. It was still having flow problems so the technician helped me find a product to take care of it (MuckPucks). A month later and it is running beautifully!

I love my pond! It's so relaxing watching the fish and listening to the waterfall. The guys were great! They started and finished the pond as scheduled. They answered all of my questions and completed our requests. About a week after the pond was done, a heron showed up and was looking for lunch. Paul, owner of The Pond Gnome, came over that day and set up a trip line along the edges to scare the heron if he came back. I have not seen the heron since and all of the fish are safe. Great customer service!

Once again the Pond Gnome did not disappoint! We started with a small 8x8 pond earlier in the year then added a 12' stream addition a few months later. This group really knows how to make your backyard dreams come true. Everyone was professional, courteous, communicative, efficient and all around awesome! There were no surprises and everything was fully explained. I would recommend them 100x over.

We hired Pond Gnome to replace our 300 gallon concrete bowl pond with a waterfall. Everything was done on time, as agreed, good quality materials and great design. We don't have fish, but do have wildlife (even a bobcat) stop by. We have called a couple of times, once on warranty to replace a light, and again for a clogged pump. We got on their schedule and all was fixed on the spot.

We were always getting leaves out of the concrete bowl, pumping out to control algae, and we have none of that with the waterfall, never touch it. We have an annual Pond Gnome maintenance arrangement and that is really all that is needed. They are experts and have been easy to work the few times we have reached out.

We couldn't be happier with the water features Paul and Barbi have built for us! The first, in 2004, was a pond with a 40 ft stream flowing into it. Paul came to the house and plotted out his vision on the future location of our pond. I took the week off of work to watch the construction, which was amazing! Paul later told us that due to the lay of our property, this was one of his most challenging projects to date.

We became part of their annual pond tour, which resulted in countless complements. We even had a visit from the owner of AquaScape when he was in town! To this day, I spend time every morning sitting by the pond, feeding the Koi and our large red eared slider. Our second water feature, a pondless stream by the front entry, built in 2018, has transformed our entryway into an oasis in the desert.

The artistry created by the combine efforts of Paul, Rob, Parker and Roy is amazing. They are experts at their craft! We have had some of the local wildlife visit, which is always fun to observe, and our cats love to explore the area, while watching the fish. Maintenance on both features is minimal and the enjoyment that has come from the creation of these water features cannot be measured!

I could go on and on and can't say enough about the service Paul and Barbi have provided, as well as the friendship we've created with them through the years. They are wonderful people with an exceptional crew. I highly recommend them to anyone considering adding a water feature to their property.

My experience with the crew at The Pond Gnome could not have gone better. I am very satisfied with the consultation, design and eventual installation of our beautiful new water feature. Paul, Rob and Patrick all contributed to creating a wonderful pondless waterfall that is the envy of our neighbors. The crew was very respectful of our property and were especially careful while working right next to our newly poured concrete patio.

If any irrigation plumbing required moving or adjustment, they did it. Once the feature was mostly completed, the helped in placing plants in position and modified the irrigation to accommodate the new plantings. The layout and hardscape materials used blend perfectly with the natural surroundings in our back yard. And the sound it makes is calming, peaceful and a welcome addition to our evening lounging on the patio.

The LED lighting in the stream itself is a must have for enjoying our feature after the sun sets. All said and done, I am very happy with the process and the finished product. My thanks to the Pond Gnome team.

My neighbors are envious! I had an ugly, unused, unwanted in ground swimming pool. I wanted to keep a water feature in my yard. Paul and I had a lot of discussion and collaboration about how to fix my ugly pool and make it a beautiful koi pond with a stream. Customer service was great. Paul and Rob always addressed any changes and the teams attention to detail was exceptional.

I am completely satisfied! I would also like to mention that Paul and Rob have a lot of industry knowledge and were very helpful in providing recommendations for other projects I'm needing to get done.

Having the unique full perspective of pond construction companies in the Phoenix AZ metro, I can say without any hesitation that Pond Gnome is the very best and delivered a water feature beyond all my high expectations from pre-build to completion. In 5 consecutive days, they transformed a dead space in my yard to a gorgeous water oasis (pond/waterfall/stream).

They have a true process and never leave you guessing. They are completely transparent and good honest people to work with. The designer and owner, Paul, works with you as the client to design a feature that aligns with your vision and the crew makes it happen efficiently and expertly. The construction team is truly impeccable in every aspect of the build from excavation to clean up.

Every detail from cutting out the shelves to placement of boulders is done with care and precision. It's rare to come across a company that performs their work with honesty, reliability, hard work, perfection, and dedication to going above and beyond to deliver only the best--but Pond Gnome did just that. I love my new pond and highly recommend Pond Gnome!

There is a reason this company has been building ponds for 18+ years--do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or hard earned money going with the other guys that lack the experience and quality.

Paul and his wife Barbara and the entire staff with The Pond Gnome are Amazing! They built our amazing pond back between 2010-2012 and have maintained it sense then! The original design score an A. Installation scored an A. Maintenance scored an A. Because of them I'll always have a Koi Pond and it will always be done by this company. Stop considering anyone else and see what this company is growing and thriving as much as they are!

Having a pond is an expensive endeavor. Be prepared for a cash-ectomy. I was just charged $1,000 for the annual cleaning of a 4x6' pond, but it was quoted as $360. They do not offer fixed prices.

I started out thinking this was a good company to do my project, turned out not so much. I explained what I wanted, above grown koi pond. Gave them an example picture I had taken from the net and for the price of $125 they made me a drawing computer generated of what they thought would be best. I agreed to there plan. And gave them a $500 deposit, for a total of $625 I was having a large party sept. 16th and wanted the construction complete by the.

The waited a week or so and sent me a letter saying they did not want to do the job. They also said that they would send me my deposit back of the full $625. I called them and said my party was coming up and needed it done, was it the design or the money that made them deside not to do the work. I had a text from them giveing me the price$19902.00 and a complete work schedule saying what they were going to do on what specific date and what date the job would be done.

They said it was the money and the design both, but it was there design. They gave me a new price of $35,800. I said know just send me back my deposit, They would only give me part of the deposit back, $500 instead of the $625 and on top that now there not so nice, more like thugs then business men

Giving Pond Gnome just a one star based on their non service. Called them on a Thursday morning to have them come out and look at my pond pump as it had stopped working. Was requested to send them a pictures of my pond and the pump as well as my contact information. Which I did right away and called them to verify they had received it. They did. Well it is now Tuesday of the following week and Todd from The Pond Gnome just called to see if I still needed service. I told him no that I had someone else come out and fix it. Guessing they really don't need the business based on their slow response to customer calls.

Beware their pricing and the billing is quite contentious. They do not inform you of the increase in pricing if they consider it an emergency. Service can vary.

We are absolutely thrilled with how our water garden, stream and pond. We have dragon flies, and water flowers, tadpoles, and lots of birds and it has only been in a few weeks. It's such a wonderful place for the kids (and adults) to explore. The crew was extremely detail oriented and professional, and the entire contract and all prices were clear up front. We have found that it is increasingly difficult to find companies who perform above expectations, and Pond Gnome is definitely one of them.

Had a tech come out and provide a quote for some minor work which we then agreed to. When finished the bill was 2.5 times more and nothing additional was done. Said quote was wrong. They will not come out unless you provide your credit card in advance so they will charge you what they decide and not what you agree. AVOID THESE PEOPLE.
