Rothwell Landscape, Inc. was started by Jason Rothwell. His business venture began as an 11 year old boy mowing lawns in the neighborhood. As time went by, he obtained a drivers' license and began to branch out to neighborhoods other than his own. Rothwell Mowing was the name and soon customers wanted leaves raked, bushes trimmed, and flowers planted, the business began to grow.
Rothwell Landscape, Inc. was born in 1992. Jason hired his first employees in high school and when he graduated from Manhattan High it only seemed natural that he continue his education at Kansas State University in the Horticulture Department.

Jason Rothwell is the President of Rothwell Landscape, Inc., the company he started in 1992. Jason is a graduate of Kansas State Universities Horticulture program specializing in Landscape Design. In addition to his day to day responsibilities of overseeing the company, he assists the landscape and irrigation departments with design and sales.

One of our most common programs is our 5-step fertilizing program which is designed to apply fertilizer and weed control at the critical times of the year.

I wish I could comment on their landscaping work, but we haven't gotten that far. Signed and paid a deposit 7 weeks ago and haven't heard anything since. No one ever answers their phone, calls back, or responds to emails. I know they are super busy, but how long does it take to update a customer on scheduling? I sincerely hope they will turn things around and I can change my rating.
In the meantime, I guess I'll just keep waiting. Update: The company has been horrible at communicating with us, but boy do they do great work! They ended up coming to start work just a couple weeks after my review posted. Took 2-3 weeks to complete our backyard transformation and we are very happy with the results! Dan and his crew are wonderful!

Rothwell came highly recommended by our trusted neighbors. We vetted many different companies, but we were excited about this one because of their reputation serving our neighborhood. It took them over 1 month to get back to us, after making multiple follow up calls to them requesting a consult. We were able to get ahold of them and they came out to our home to give us an estimate, then another month goes by and we hear nothing.
I was persistent with phone calls, because I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt due to many businesses navigating the changes due to covid-19. I won't pursue work with this company again. We are now working with a local company who has been very responsive in communication and follow up. I'm just happy to finally get a quote for services we requested.

First engagement with Rothwell was for residential landscaping in 2015. The work provided was very good and incorporated competitive pricing and quality installation. My wife and I valued that the owner worked directly with us and focused on our vision for our yard in a way that complimented the experience. Services rendered by them included lawn irrigation, consultation in decorative plant selection, landscaped rock amphitheater-style wall and fire-pit area, seeding, and other work. Manhattan has many landscape companies in the area and this is another reliable company.

Unbelievably troublesome- not a private homeowner supportive business. Undue delays in starting and completing a small residential landscape contract- over six months to emplace small plants, mulch and grass seed. The company had to repeatedly be contacted to remind that contracted work was still incomplete.
