St. Augustine sod varieties are produced on our Florida farms, including Floratam and our own Classic variety.
Check out the below guidelines for sod installation as compiled by the sod experts at Rountree Sod Service. Grass is sold by the pallet. A pallet usually consists of 500 square feet of sod. To find the number of pallets required for the area, measure desired area (length and width in feet). Multiply the width times the length and then divide by 500.

Ordered Sod for a commercial piece of property. Sod was placed all over the property in the wrong places. Was laid in the wrong places and 7 skids sat waiting to be laid for days. We are now 6 days in and they are still allowing sod to sit on skids and not be layed. They continue to say they will come and yet yesterday we were at our property working all day and not one person arrived to lay the sod.

Now it is a Sunday and we will see if someone shows up. I would not recommend this company unless you want to babysit them and ride their butts about showing up to lay your sod. You would think if they delivered 65+ skids of sod you would have people to lay it for a few days until the job is done. And the only way I was able to get a hold of Bruce was to call and let the lady answering the phone know that I was stopping payment on the CC. Funny, he was easy to be found when you say that, but my contractor couldn't get him to call him back. Btw, they will charge the card the FULL amount before the job is done.

Girlfriend order 3 pallets of grass. I should of inspected it when it arrived but had back surgery and could not stay out long enough, so I just opened the gate for for the driver and went back up to bed. First pallet was half empty compared to the last pallet and it was mostly junk, barely had any dirt under it and was all falling apart dried up as well.

Second pallet quality was so much better but not as tall as the 3rd pallet. The 3rd pallet was perfect, green as could be. Wish they all were like the 3rd Pallet. Not sure if we will buy from them again after paying over a lot of money for them. I have pictures of anyone wants to reach out to us.

Good sod 6 pallets ordered and delivered exactly spaced where needed. 15 bucks returned for each pallet.

I ordered grass weeks in advance and called the day of delivery to confirm the time and they couldn't find my order no company is perfect I'm out of money hopefully who ever I speak with can fix this error

Ordered three pallets of grass. Price was good, but delivery was terrible. I called the day before to check the grass was still coming on Tuesday and was assured it was. I called Tuesday morning to double check since I had a company coming to lay it at 5:30 that evening. The company showed up to install the grass, but the grass did not. The grass was eventually delivered at 8:30 that night.

I had to pay the company half the labor fee since they showed up to install the grass, but no grass was there due to Roundtree Sod. I ended up having to lay it myself the next day. It also seemed the grass had been sitting on the pallets for a couple days. The grass blades were yellow and the sod started to fall apart. Ended up sending 2 pallets back. Just not a good experience.

Worst customer service ever! Called in sod order w/ credit card information @7:36am to Bruce. Yard man comes to pick up and 1:53pm same day and it's been sold. Advised to come back tomorrow with no sort of courtesy or customer service remedy. Order sod for my old home previously, now new home and I will NEVER order sod from you again! Bruce was not helpful or apologetic at all. Bruce said "The person picking up arrived too late we don't baby sit sod it's first come first serve and we sold 30minutes ago." Well Bruce, if A customer contacts a business and pays for a service in full at 7:36am (providing my card information to generate an invoice) I'm sure any reputable business would've called to confirm. advise or inquire prior to selling something that was reserved and taken the time to be paid for in full at 7:36am. Thanks but no thanks! I'll take my business elsewhere!

Went here a couple weeks back. Waited to write this review to see how the grass took. I walked in for a pallet of St Augustine. The check out lady was busy, but was able to get me in and out in minutes. The guy driving the forklift was super nice and quick as well. I used the grass to sod new areas as well as dead grass areas. The sod has thrived in both areas. I watered only an extra 30 minutes or so a week (in fairness it's been raining nearly every day). Honestly, no complaints.

I ordered a pallet of saint Augustine grass for my house on the north end of town; I had some sections of grass that succumbed to chinch bugs and of course have to comply with the HOA. I took the day off from work to dedicate to the yard work. The pallet arrived late morning which was fine. As I was working I noticed some of the grass had crab grass in the sod.

As I continued to work I noticed more and more. I called and after explaining my problem was connected with a man who I noticed expressed no shock at my issue. He simply asked for a number and said that he would have that number replaced as soon as they had a delivery up my way again. I asked what an I supposed to do since this weed spreads very fast and is almost impossible to get rid of.

He said, in so many words, I might have to pull those pieces out so they don't seed and hope for the best. No apology no offer to refund a portion of my money. I had to call 3 more times before the replacement pieces were finally delivered. Fast forward to now, the entire pallet of sod had weeds, sand spurs, crab grass - my yard looks much worse now than before. Horrible experience - I strongly recommend anyone needing quality grass and looking for a company that values your business go elsewhere.

Bought a few pallets of sod these past weeks and they're super helpful. they have some really nice st Augustine grass super green! perfect grass! I dont see why people are complaining about the other nasty type of grass. if you pay for the nasty type of grass that's what you end up with

I purchased 4 pallets of st augustine sod from this company and am extremely pleased. I was told the approximate delivery time and they came when they said. The delivery person was knowledgeable and knew the approx distance between pallets and it was awesome for laying it. The sod itself was thick and green fresh cut. Had a good solid base.

Excellent service and grass. We have just finished installing bahia grass. It came fresh and in great condition. Bahia does have to be handled carefully. I was surprised how thick pieces of sod were, I expected worse of laying this type of grass. I am happy with the quality. My friend got about 17 pallets a few weeks ago for his investment property. He recommended this place. The price and quality was great.

They are so quick to email you back when you want to give them money but can't answer an email now that my sod has been delivered. I ordered a pallet of Bahia sod last week and when it arrived it came looking like this - sad, dead, and in horrible clumps. Half of the pallet was loaded upside down, making putting down rows of sod nearly impossible. Clumps of grass would fall out.

We lost a good 60-75 sq feet due to dead grass, sand, and the fallen clumps. I've been emailing since last Saturday and haven't gotten a single response. Super disappointed as they came highly recommended by a friend who works in landscaping. We definitely won't ever purchase from them again and will make sure to tell everybody never to buy from Rountree.

I've already informed my friend's business about their shoddy customer service and horrible quality products. He is, needless to say, embarrassed and won't be using Rountree anymore either. Very disappointed and annoyed.

I have never left a one star review! I am completely appalled with the lack of customer service.! I can't believe they are still in business. I placed my order for sod a few days ago. Everything seemed fine and I called this morning to ask if they could change the drop location from one side of my driveway to another. I was hung up and had to call back several times.

Still couldn't get that done. So I decided that since I couldn't get good customer service before the drop, they probably wouldn't give me good customer service after. I'm taking my business elsewhere. I advise everyone to do the same!

I showed up at the Southside location around 7:45 on a Friday morning. The woman at the counter told me there was no sod to be purchased despite at least five 18 wheelers being in the process of unloading sod. I thanked her for being friendly to her customers and left. Does this business understand the customer/supplier relationship?

Horrible Customer Service and Follow up. It's not the bad things that happen in business but how you react and address them that defines a business's character. This Company lacks in service and product. First Batch of new sod went down and was looking great. Weeks later the final batch showed up and within a week was dead and taking out the first batch along with the mature grass. by the time we chased down the culprit it was too late. Thousands of dollars to correct are lost in Sod, Irrigation, Fertilizer, Bug Killer and now New Sod. Not our Problem is the final response.

I made a gigantic mistake and used someone else (I'm lookin at you Classic Turf) to supply the sod for my backyard. This mistake has been quite costly, three weeks after being put down the whole yard is dead and I am very upset. The original supplier and I spoke several times over the phone over the course of this three weeks. They told me that my browning sod was fine and to keep doing what I was doing which lead to the eventual death of my three week old sod.

When I called CT for some assistance now that it's all dead I was greeted with a rude, unhelpful and unfriendly manager who let me know she wasn't going to do anything to help me. No advice, no referrals, no refunds, no sod sent out, nothing but a rude conversation where she basically said "too bad, idiot person who has already paid me." Commence my city-wide call-a-thon for a helpful individual! LUCKY FOR ME I CALLED ROUNTREE SOD!

I spoke with Bruce who was so kind and so helpful, took a chunk of time to talk to me about what I might be able to do to save the sod that I didn't even buy from him! He asked me a bunch of questions (can you lift it? do you see white roots? What do the runners look like?) and then told me his assessment of what he thought had gone wrong, what I might do to try and save it, where I should go and what I should buy to treat it with and even if it dies how I should go about resodding so I don't have this issue in the future.

What a treasure to find him! If I am unable to save my sod you better believe I am going to use Rountree to put it down next time. After such a terrible customer experience with Classic Turf I was so warmed and overjoyed to be treated with kindness and respect by Bruce at Rountree. Thank you so much for your time! DEAR ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING TO PUT DOWN SOD -- AVOID CLASSIC TURF AT ALL COSTS, RUN TO ROUNTREE WHERE THEY CARE ABOUT PEOPLE AND WHERE THEY ARE CLEARLY PASSIONATE ABOUT SOD!
