Our design process begins with a meeting at our office, where we'll tour our showcase garden together, selecting plants and color palettes, and address how you want your future space to serve you. A great design begins with a solid foundation. We'll conduct a site analysis where we measure, take photos, and collect soil samples to ensure your design works harmoniously with the specific environmental needs of your space.

Sage just finished re-landscaping our front yard, taking out our lawns and replacing with native plants. We are so happy with the results and the whole process. Would recommend Todd, Rita, Zach and team to anyone! Very professional right from the start. We knew what the costs were going to be from the beginning and the plans were detailed, easy to read, and adjustable.

They provided a color book of all the plants and how to care for them in years to come. Their workers were clean, fast and very nice, especially the foreman, Marco. A few weeks after they finished, Todd brought us a wonderful gift bag full of goodies like wine, wine glasses and a Gardner's Log book to keep our gardening notes. The plants are growing like crazy already and we couldn't be more pleased. Thank you, Todd and team!

Would highly recommend Todd and his crew led by Johnny for a landscape remodel. The quality of work is top notch. Todd communicated well throughout the project. He gave us several options and good advice when various unexpected problems came up during construction. Our original design done by another firm included an element that would have looked bad. Todd caught this design flaw, explained why it wouldn't be a good idea then refunded us the bid amount for that work. Todd has very high integrity and is looking out for your best interest. The worksite was left clean and tidy every day.

This business is the best landscaping concern on the central coast. There is none better. The experience I had with Sage Landscape was fabulous. Everyone is professional and very knowledgeable about everything it takes to give you what you want for your project. If you don't choose Sage for your next project you've missed the boat.

Our experience with Sage Landscapes was very positive at every stage of our project! From design to completion, the work was done very professionally. The paver installation could have been a challenge because we designed our own unconventional pattern. The crew laid it out with no problem. All the concrete and carpentry work were done perfectly. The lighting at night was tastefully designed and expertly installed.

The crew and the foreman arrived on time each morning and cleaned up our property at the end of each day. They were polite and worked hard. Thank you Todd for constantly checking on the progress of our project and checking in with us to maintain good communication. We love our new front yard, fence, trash enclosure, and driveway! We recently had Sage renovate our landscape and I can't recommend them enough. They were professional, hardworking, timely and kept our budget in mind. From the design team to the installers, they exceeded our expectations. We gave them a few pictures of ideas from Houzz and Pinterest and they nailed the look we were going for. We now spend more time outside then inside our home. Thank you Sage!

Sage owners, foremen, and other employees are all committed to a functional and beautiful design and install. Everyone was professional, patient, available and hard working. Our design called for adding retaining walls, leveling ground, preserving oaks, adding food bearing and ornamental plants, adding a koi pond, 3 fountains, an in-ground hot tub, fire pit, dog run, stone work, custom fencing, lighting, and outdoor kitchen island. Everything turned out beautifully and Sage has been responsive throughout. It was our pleasure to work with them all to make our dream yard a reality.

From our beautiful design to the installation of our landscaping, I've never had such hard working professionals do such a great job. We have been so thankful that we redid our landscape when we did because now we practically live outside and are perfectly happy to quarantine during this pandemic. Thank you Sage Landscapes!

We totally agree with Mr. Gabriele Bisselle. It's as though we are totally the same people. The only difference is sage did not do our concrete work, thank goodness. They designed and installed landscape and a small fishless pond. Witch cost us over 40,000.00 also. Both myself and husband are in our late 70s. We told them we had to have a pretty much maintenance free landscape and pond due to our age.

Much to our dissatisfaction neither the landscape or the pond were even close. They did replace dead plants not to my satisfaction. Some died over winter. I had been told the trees were decideous and winter would no affect them. They were not they died, past my warranty period. I had a problem with cleanup after job. The contract said they would get rid of all debris.

They did not. Some yes but when there trailer was full that's where they stopped. I called and complained. Todd told me it's my dirt I need to keep it or clean it up myself. Final bill comes I held back till I was intimidated by Todd into sending the final payment. During the following year the pond becomes a real problem. Water becomes green with algae.

I call them that I believe the black lite they installed is not working. They send out installation boss. He claims it's ok. I was able to determine it was not. They did replace that one. However still not working. Todd comes out takes unworking lamp, saying he will replace it at no charge. It is now August 2018, it's been two years I have had to live with this filthy pond.

We are not getting any younger, and this is becoming unbearable to take care of. I have contacted other companies to fix my problem. They don't want to get involved with someone else's job. All we want is what we asked for and paid for.

We recently contracted with Sage for the design and installation of a water feature and landscaping in our front yard. We enjoyed meeting with Todd when he came to our home to look at the site. We also thought that Kelsey and Rita were competent and professional as were the other employees. Unfortunately, we did not do enough research about customer satisfaction.

We were happy with the design that he and his team did, but decided to use another contractor for the concrete portion of the plan after seeing their price estimate. Sage came back to do the landscaping and theoretically set up the fountain to run. There were misunderstandings about who was responsible for what. The landscaping looks nice, but in reviewing their costs for items such as gravel, boulders and gorilla hair we found some prices to be highly inflated and sourced those things ourselves for a large reduction in cost.

Their lighting estimate was ridiculously inflated so we purchased the lights ourselves and installed them. Normally, we probably wouldn't have taken the time to write a negative review, however, the communication at the end of the project was so unpleasant that we felt we should share it with potential customers. After some landscaping was installed we contacted Todd to say that we thought some of the plants listed were not installed.

He sent back a curt text saying that we were wrong and all the plants were there. It was easy to look at the plans and see that they were missing. He then answered that there was a "mixup" and they would be back to install the missing plants. In the interim we received an invoice for the project. We were waiting until the work was completed to pay the invoice.

The following day we got a text from Todd saying we should pay the invoice, as he needed money to pay his workers and suppliers. We found this very offensive, as the work was incomplete and it had not even been 24 hours since we received the bill. As soon as the remaining plants were installed we wrote a check. Since then we received a series of nasty texts from Todd.

We were hoping that he would care enough to come see the completed project, but no. We also suggested that it might be better to have a conversation in person about perceived problems. All we got in return was more unfriendly texts. This has left us with very negative feelings about the project. Buyer beware. Choose somewhere else to spend your hard earned money.

Had a small back yard designed including a pond. 4 tree's were supposed to be deciduous to survive our cold winters in Paso Robles. They weren't, they died. Of course we were past the warranty. We are in our 70s, and requested a relatively carefree pond. The blacklite used to keep water clear never worked. Came out once and said it was ok.

However it was not! Todd came out and found it broken. He said he would replace it. We have now gone thru summer and he has not. The water is opaque, algae, I am not happy. If you experience problems stay on top of them, don't be that nice guy that finish last. They don't keep their word.

Didn't return my calls for a landscaping project, and after finally reaching someone, they failed to show up to scheduled appointment and never called to follow up or apologize.

Great nursery! We were just passing through, so we weren't able to purchase plants today. But we will be back! They had many large CA Native plants for sale that looked really healthy (they can be hard to find large natives in pots since the roots don't like to be contained in pots for too long). Great example gardens all throughout the nursery. Helpful employees too, a nice young lady came up to us right away and asked if we needed help.

We recently purchased a house in Los Osos on a sandy slope with virtually no landscaping. Sage did a fabulous job of shaping the land, incorporating rock and flagstone walkways that are both beautiful and limits erosion, and then planting a stunning selection of drought resistant plants. Their crew were highly skilled and experienced, especially with setting the rocks and installing the drip system.

The best part is how much better it looks in real life than in the design plans. While a little expensive compared to some local landscape companies, they were far less expensive than a SLO operation we first consulted - and, the complements just keep on coming. Their work was clearly a good investment that can be enjoyed every day.

Stop by after lunch at Celia's next door and use your cafe receipt to get 15% off at this cute little nursery. I believe they offer a variety of landscaping services, but I was focused on their garden items. They feature a wide array of succulents, california natives and Mediterranean plants. The layout of the center was pleasant to stroll through and their set up included some small statuary, decorative garden items and fountains.

I ended up purchasing a small succulent that seems really healthy and was well priced. Service was friendly and the discount was certainly a nice perk after eating next door. Stop by this wonderful locally owned nursery if you're looking to accent your garden with some natives and border plants. All their plants were healthy looking and well priced! Charming little gift shop as well with local artisan goods, which make great nature and gardening themed gifts.

I don't like to give reviews for things that I'm not happy with unless I can offer advice for the next guy. We used Sage for some landscape design and installation. They are great up front - spent lots of time planning, made sketches, helped us select plants (they have a great garden area at their office where you can see what things will look like when they are grown up). Installation was fast.

The quality of the plants that they installed was OK, but not the best. Several died within a few weeks and it took many months to get them replaced. And, here's my problem with Sage: After you pay them thousands of dollars for their services, they don't make any effort to keep you a happy customer. At least that was our experience. I felt like they just wanted us to go away when we tried to find out why some of our shrubs were smaller than expected and when we reported that a few had died.

We also realized that a few of the plants in our plan had been replaced without our knowledge. When we called Sage on this, they said the original ones were not available when they came to install the new landscaping. But, I wish they had told us this up front. I really like the design that the folks at Sage produced for us. And, the crew that did some significant work on our yard was great.

I just wish that the staff at Sage had put a little bit of effort into helping us work through our concerns after they put the plants in the ground and drove away with out check. So, my advice: Be sure you know what size plants you are ordering. Double check the installed plants against your design. And, hold off on that last payment until you are happy with the products and services that you get from Sage.

Last year, I went to the home show at Madonna at met with people at Sage. I set up an appointment to talk about my backyard problem. During their visitation, I also show the girl named Chelsea my front yard. I told her that I would like to do it in phases. I have bricks piled in the back yard, I have two different proposals and would like to get a third one and make a decision.

She was nice and we had another appointment afterward for plants selection. She also handed me the proposal what they will do. She presented me a front yard estimate, I asked her, what about the backyard, that was what I wanted. She told me she can do that. I also asked her if there is any design revision if I don't like what was proposed, she said they can do that.

I thought she was going to revise the proposal. They didn't. They came up a total redo for my front yard, I asked them to revise the proposal, and for two months they never contact me for anything, while I was waiting for them to revisit my backyard and measure the site. And last month they sent me a bill and for payment. I told them I was waiting for Chelsea to come back for the backyard.

She said she will come and remeasure the yard. And they told me that I need to pay for the bill. Now, why should I pay something that I didn't order? I paid what was completed which was soil sample and partial landscape design. I was not too happy about they won't admit their mistake. Now They are asking me to pay for the remaining balance and wanted to send me to collect agency for the unpaid portion.

For anyone who is working with Sage. You better be sure that everything they said, it needs to be in writing. A verbal agreement doesn't count. It is a shame that thing turn out to be like that. If you can't have a good communication with your client, how can you expect your client will trust you and turn their projects to you. I refused to pay for thing that I didn't order. Unless they have done what I have asked for in the first place.

Utterly fascinating collage of landscapes and plants arranged in geographic settings. Many succulents and unusual arrangements. Very creative wall arrangements for interior and outdoors. So well done it is like walking in an ancient meditative garden.

I love the Sage Nursery and just recently opted for their Landscaping Service. After the completion of the project our house the the envy of the neighborhood, with people stopping on the sidewalk and cars slowing in the street. They pride themselves on service and quality; both of which they succeed in. If you want a beautiful, cohesive landscape with local plants; you cannot go wrong with Sage.

What a gem! The former Sheltered Acre Nursery has changed ownership and has been expanded and remodeled. It features a beautiful display garden showcasing plants from the 5 Mediterranean climates. Since Central CA is in this climate region, these plants do well here naturally and are water-wise and ecologically sound. But environmental-conscientousness aside, the garden is also GORGEOUS!

Stop in for a stroll through the beautiful garden or to pick up some cool succulents or native plants. They also have two gift shops with awesome household gifts and some very unique items. There are also unique garden structures, furniture and fountains, if you're in the market. Plant selection is great and also very high quality. Knowledgeable and friendly staff complete your experience. Eat at Celia's Cafe, tucked in the same lot, then stroll around the garden! You'll be glad you did.
