A new hybrid from Singing Tree Gardens. Unregistered, but we are close to the end of our testing period of this new hybrid, and expect to register it next year. The plant grows wider than tall and has bright green attractive foliage. The flower buds have overlapping bracts resembling little pineapples and are a bright yellow-green.
This is by far the best of the orange flowering deciduous azaleas. Requested by more gardeners for the "orange" color they have seen in other's gardens, 'Gibraltar' will be your very favorite too. The plant will grow to 5ft tall and wide in 10 years and does best in full sun. Here is a flower color that draws the eye and feeds the soul.
Blue foliage on a tree that spreads on the ground. This prostrate form of the Himalayan Cedar is a must for that spot in your garden that needs a blue color and lots of interest. We planted ours by a Thuja orientalis 'Sunlight' for a wonderful effect. You will NOT be "feelin blue" if you get this plant going in your own garden!.
A dwarf columnar blue Port Orford Cedar. The plant is dense, with upright branches, and the foliage is juvenile and POWDER BLUE. An interesting characteristic is that the plant grows in a spiraled fashion. Found as a seedling by Anthony P.J. de Beer in Tilburg, Holland. Looks stunning when planted with golden foliage plants.
Calluna vulgaris 'Firefly' is truly an incredible heather. The deep mauve flowers appear on the plant from August to October, but that is not the best show this plant puts on by a long shot! As autumn becomes winter, the foliage turns from a terracotta color to a brick red. It looks like a red flowering plant at first glance, and stays that way until spring, when the folilage begins to change back to its summer color. Our most popular heather! Winner of the Award of Garden Merit trophy.

I should have read the reviews of this nursery. I had ordered 4 wentwood red 1 gal heathers and 4 spring torch 1 gal heathers. The spring torch heather were beautiful looking plants, extremely root-bound. the perfect plants. However, the 4 wentwood heathers looked like they were two inch plants stuck into a 1 gal pot. The root systems barely existed. *Don't buy from the Singing Tree Gardens & Nursery!

Critical: Professionalism Beautiful place despite the roundup poison they spray all over the place. If your plant smells like posion is on it it's because there is.

I am from outside of California but drove out to pick up a plant order, as well as tour the gardens. Their variety of plants is amazing and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. Definitely a must see if you can. Everything I have ordered from them has been very healthy and has had no issues taking root after being planted. Sarah has been a great help too and she along with everyone at the Nursery seems to be genuinely passionate about what they do. I would definitely recommend shopping with them.

This is the first time i have ordered from singing tree gardens but have followed them for years. I am doing a large project and so far they are right on the money with add ons various questions and so on. Since the plants are traveling cross country i was nervous, they convinced me that this is normal for them. So far, top notch in every way.

These people are not very honest, buyer beware. Singing Tree Gardens is a lovely nursery with a wide variety of interesting plants. I was specifically looking for a type of deciduous azalea that they indicated on their website they had in stock. I wanted a larger size, but when I got to the nursery all they had were one gallon containers with small plants for $30.00.

But they did have the color I wanted and I thought a one gallon size would work. I was shocked when I went to plant my azalea to find that the plant came out of the container with a very small root system that was the perfect size and shape for a 2" pot. Singing Trees apparently had been delivered 2" pots of azaleas with a 2" root system, took them out of the small containers and plopped them into a one gallon container and added some bark to fill the container and are selling them as a one gallon size plant. Too bad, it is a really pretty place, but I won't be buying from them again.

Unlike several others that have left negative reviews, my experience with these people was just about perfect. Two months ago, I ordered seven different Rhododendrons from their website and shipped to me via UPS, 769 miles south in San Diego. When ordering online, one never knows what plants you will receive and in what shape they will arrive. I am pleased to report that all of my plants were healthy, well packed and arrived looking fantastic.

I planted all of the arrivals in containers, according to their instructions. The soil in the San Diego area is far too alkaline to sustain Rhodies in the ground. All are doing well so far and time will tell if they are to survive our warm Summer heat.

I ordered a Korean Pine 'Morris Blue' from Singing Tree in early May and opted for a larger 3 gallon specimen. It arrived quickly and in good condition but instead of a well shaped conifer it had been neglected and allowed to grow three main trunks. I had no choice but to remove two and stake the best trunk to eventually grow into a proper shape. When I contacted Singing Tree to express my dissatisfaction, the response was rude and it was suggested that "I guess we have different tastes in the way dwarf conifers are grown.

That said, you should definitely not buy from us again. We would not be able to satisfy you." I have been buying and growing conifers for 30+ years and indeed do know how this specimen should have been grown and shaped before it was ready for sale. It wasn't worth even one-third of the price I paid. It will be no problem to never order from this nursery again.

I ordered 4 plants in March from this company. They all showed up, but had recently been put in 3 gallon pots (to get more money for them) and none of the roots were set. I emailed Sara and got the same answer everyone gets. No refunds, no replacements, no partial refunds. I paid $350.00 for 4 plants and expect to receive exceptional specimens. They were definitely were not that.

I filed a claim with my credit card company and Singing Gardens said the plants were receive and I was happy! Really--I didn't say that. I'm going ahead and pursuing a partial refund of one plant. We'll see? Don't buy from this company unless you want problem! Don't say you weren't waraned!

Went here with my kids, we were excited to see the flowers and buy some new flowers for our garden. We left money in the donation box and I wanted to take some pictures of my toddlers by the flowers. Before that happened a staff member came out and looked at us like we were doing something wrong, we felt rushed to to the back garden to start our shopping/browsing.

We were then met by another staff member who asked what it was we were looking for, I said we didn't know yet and we just walked in, I was looking at the Nadia flowers with my child then an older gentleman approached us and asked what we were looking for, and he had a very stern and unwelcoming expression on his face. This was such a bad experience to feel so unwelcome and rushed.

There were other people there, doing what we were and we felt like it was intentional as if we were wrong for even being there. Very unprofessional. My 5 year child asked me if we were in trouble for being there. We would have had such a lovely experience if we weren't ambushed 3 times within a 10 minute time frame.

Plants were not as pictured or described. They were much smaller than a gallon plant. Some arrived with the roots practically detached, others brown. When I contacted Singing Tree many they refused to acknowledge my concerns. I am very disappointed and will never purchase anything there again.

I'm having trouble reaching somebody there about a plant that arrived looking almost dead. I was trying to find a way to email the information and include a picture that I took on the day it arrived but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. Of the 3 Heather plants in the front of the picture one of them looks like it's clearly in trouble and it has gotten worse.

Visiting the Singing Tree Garden was so very pleasant. Nice to see the variety of plants to choose from, beautiful gardens, very well kept. 2 cute cats roamed the place. I really enjoyed the time there, nice lawn chairs. I wish there was a tea garden shop there, it would be the perfect setting to combine enjoying looking at plants and taking some quality time to decide what you want. Very happy with the two plants we selected, very good customer service. Had a handout to help us for our next steps with the Rhododendrons

I have ordered for the past two years more than 10 of the rhododendrons because of the great pictures of the blooms. I live on the eastcoast - midatlantic area. Majority of the rhododendron I bought from them failed. It is at the succes rate of 35% and 65% failure. Each plant is at least $35, so I lost a lot of money. I gave up asking for refund - they did refund two of the plants.

The rest - they did not respond or refused. For whatever reasons, a lot failed. I am very very disappointed. Either it has to do with the method they plant them in - is not suitable for the weather here in the eastcoast. Very disappointed customer, kevin

Very disappointed. Ordered a special Japanese Maple to be shipped. My destination was within a two day delivery from their nursery but they shipped it on a Friday and UPS mis-routed it so it arrived in 6 days rather than the two and arrived as a dead stick. Spent 3-4 weeks trying to revive it when I reached out to the nursery and after a 2 weeks they still haven't responded. The only thing I can say at this point is this is a good example of how not to provide customer service.

So far I am very pleased with the plants I have received through mail order from Singing Tree. The first order was packed a little better than the second - but the plants all look healthy. The prices for large plants are very reasonable - particularly if you order enough to get the free shipping. I'm excited to see what they have available next Spring. They sell out of sought after plants very quickly so I'll know to get in early next year.

I purchased several scented rhodies from this grower. The plants were carefully packed and arrived with minimal delivery trauma. They all seem very healthy, indeed are blooming, and I'm pleased with my purchase. Just know that they arrive without pots so plan accordingly.

I ordered 12 plants (each one is around $15 ) and waited for two weeks, but nothing came to my house. So I called and emailed them. In the sameday I called, they left me a message that they started to delivery it. And finally I got my order 16 days after the purchase. And that's not the worst thing. I bought the plants of 1 gallon size, but what the real size is less than 2.5Qt.

In the picture, the one of half of my palm is theirs ($15) comparing to the 2.5Qt one from Lowes(8.98$,w ith flowers on). I felt so dissapointed that I emailed them to complain and ask for solution. You know what, Sara responsed me quickly this time. She blamed the Covid-19 and me of not cancelling the order before it is delivered. How rediculous it is!

After I ordered, how could I know they would spend such a long time to deliver and how poor the quality the products are! I know it's hard time for everyone in the pandemic. But I didn't only order from Singing Tree, I also ordered from other business but frankly speaking, nothing worse than their products and service.

I want to share what a great experience I had with singing tree nursery. I have searched for years for a particular tree and a nursery willing to ship. Not only did I find that with singing tree but they also did it for a good price and great customer service. I enjoyed working with Sarah Flowers.how could I not with a sweet name like that! Amazing selection of plants I haven't seen elsewhere and did I mention they ship?! I only wish I had a larger yard!

Singing Trees Nursery is a must visit in the spring. Their gardens are very beautiful and inspirational. I have ordered plants online from this nursery and I do agree they are not always in the best shape when received. It almost seems like the owner saves the best ones for the nursery. Not only are they in better condition but they are better priced.

I highly recommend going in person to make your plant purchase. Really don't be surprised if the plants sent in the mail need extra love. If you do go to the nursery and see a friendly woman named Katie make sure you ask for her help. She found me some amazing Rhododendrons and gave me top of the line service. Sadly the owner really didn't offer any help. It was disappointing since I have now made large purchases here and could have used a bit more help from the expert.

Amazed at positive reviews for this place. I ordered 2 rhodies. They arrived, were planted, mulched, and died in 2 months. I asked for replacements. Sent 3 emails until I got a response. The response is below. They DO NOT guarantee anything. Instead, I get this snarky, sarcastic response, and an offer to buy again at the regular price after their plants died.

Do you consider this a positive experience? I don't! She doesn't back up her stuff, and rags on those who do. From: Sarah Flower [mailto:sarahsingtree@gmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2018 3:33 PM To: nelson.timken@verizon.net Subject: Lost Plants Hi Nelson - We do not offer a replacement for lost plants. I understand that many large corporate box stores will replace just about anything, but we are a much smaller company and unfortunate losses are a part of gardening.

You can re-order if you would like to try again and I would be happy to help you do that. Let me know if I can be of assistance. Best, Sarah -- Sarah Flower Sales Manager Singing Tree Gardens

Great specialized nursery. Went there yesterday and got way more than I planned. Friendly and helpful. Next time I will look through their website and take a list to ask about. They were happy to go in the back and see if they had more of a particular plant and discussed sun and water needs with us. Looked like a great place to go if you need rhododendrons!

This was my second annual visit all the way from Sacramento. It was an easy drive from Eureka where we stayed the weekend. Look for the goat farm on the way in from the Cranell Rd exit from Hwy 101. They recently updated their web site so that you conveniently search for plants by hardiness zones, sunlight light needs, mature height, etc. This was very helpful in creating a listing of dwarf conifers I wanted to see in the garden nursery.

Their plants are not cheap; they attract serious home gardeners who are in search of more unusual plant specimens. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. They are usually outside, so you get to summon them by striking a hanging gong! This time of year the grass and ground are wet from early-morning dew, so wear waterproof shoes or work boots. Enjoy your visit!

My expectations were probably too high, but I was under-impressed. I ordered two 3-gallon blue barron rhodos. When they arrived they were extremely leggy and DWARFED by my existing 3 gallon rhodo (about 1/5 the size - perhaps a few inches larger than the 1 gallon specimens that are available locally for $10 less and no shipping). I wanted to balance out a mulch bed with the three plants, but the new plants are so much smaller (than my existing 3 gallon), they just won't work. $160 wasted.

Each rhodo fit into a 1 gallon pot. At $90 for shipping, I anticipated two boxes, but both were shipped in one box. Actual shipping charges were probably about $60 - $65, but I realize there's lot's of processing involved in shipping plants. Although disappointingly small and extremely leggy, shipping, communication and prep were very good and the plants arrived in good shape.

This was my first experience ordering plants by mail. I might try it again if I needed a one gallon or smaller, but never for a plant this size, at least not from Singing Tree.
