I just received an email thru Yelp from Soholt asking me to remove my review. Get your facts straight. I stand by my review and after all the years gone by.my patio is cracked in many places from a bad job this company did. Eric argued with me and said as I questioned the horrible job that it's up to contractor standards. Soholt don't accuse me of getting mixed up. I will never unfortunately forget and will never recommend your company.

Would have liked to have given this company a chance to earn my business but they never returned any communications.

Just. Don't. We hired Soholt in 2015 to draw plans, and that job went well thanks to the professional contractor Eric provided. We hired Soholt again in early May 2019, again for plans to be completed within 3 weeks, give or take a week, expecting another good job. After 3 weeks, we had nothing and his new unprofessional contractor was not responding to calls, texts, or emails.

We fired Soholt after 5 weeks since we still had not received any plans per the contract. We offered to pay Eric one-third of the contract price for the meeting with the contractor and for time spent developing concept plans - which Eric received from the contractor but NEVER sent to us - which we felt was a fair and generous offer. Eric rejected our offer and instead sued us in Small Claims court for the entire contract amount.

The judge encouraged us to settle for the amount we had previously offered, which we did, and further ordered Eric to dismiss the case with prejudice, which he did. Our experience with Soholt was not only a waste of time and money, it was truly horrible.

Working with Eric was a mixed bag of pros and cons. Although he initially gave a good impression and sound advice, nearly every step after hiring came with a need to constantly monitor the work for accuracy and timeliness. He misquoted and then placed an 85' trench in the wrong location. His proposed solution was to split the cost of correcting this. Plants were put in without authorization and significantly over budget.

He neglected to include an irrigation control system in his original quote. Concrete wasn't ordered or poured on time. A fence was the wrong color. Nearly every meeting involved him not having a document, missing a tape measure, or something akin to "oh, I forgot about that". After paying 10% more for the job than originally agreed, he wanted to add another 8% to cover his mistakes.

I refused. He sued me. The judge agreed with me and awarded me judgment. My final backyard -after the corrections I demanded and having to monitor everything- came out nice. But the dozens of wasted hours and money made the experience terrible.

Thank you Soholt and Company for redoing our backyard. We love the way that it turned out and can't wait to take advantage of having this new island that you installed. Eric is always so friendly and easy to work with. He is personable and listens to you when you describe what you want. Thanks again!

Eric and his team completely transformed my entire front and backyard and it could not have been a better experience. Eric and Patty are very responsive, even after the job is done, to make sure I'm happy with the work. All of my requests were heard and dealt with professionally and their quality of work is top notch. I am very happy with my new yard and would recommend them to anyone who asks

People stop by just to compliment our landscaping. Eric Soholt & company designed and installed a beautiful drought tolerant landscape for our huge front yard. Although initial design and quotes were beyond our means, Eric worked with us to create something within our budget. Multiple storms and rain delayed our project, but we were regularly updated regarding the delays.

Once the rain let up, our project was done in a matter of days. We are very happy with the finished product and plan to call Eric and his team for a quote on our backyard soon.

What a nightmare dealing with Eric Soholt. We contacted Soholt Landscape in Spring 2016 and got a quote for our backyard. There was about 600 sq. ft. of Astroturf installed by the previous owner. We wanted to remove the Astroturf and sand underneath, pour about 200 sq. ft. of concrete to extend the patio, lay sod and put in some roses. We met with a few companies, but thought (upon first impression) that Eric was knowledgeable and spent more to go with him.

We saved up for the job Eric quoted us and hired him in Fall, 2016. We paid the deposit and the crew started a week later. After the concrete was poured the crew stopped coming. We contacted Patty at the Office, (who was professions and polite) after a few days. Patty told us the crew had an issue and was going to sub contract the job to another person. Roy, (the sub contractor) started about two weeks after the concrete was poured and started working on the sod.

We noticed Roy was not removing the sand that was laid with the Astroturf and was instead, placing a thin layer of mulch over the astroturf sand base and was then going to put the sod directly over it - he said he questioned Eric and told him it was not a good idea, but Eric told him to just do it that way. I am not a landscaper, but I know that if you put sod over sand it will die.

It also would have been several inches above the concrete, which to this day, looks terrible as it sits several inches above the flower bed. As Eric claimed to be a landscape architect, we looked to him for expertise. He later told us that it is what we asked for and he thought it sounded strange too, which was a blatant lie. Eric said he would split the cost with us for the sand removal. What, really? Eric Soholt wanted to add charges on top of his original quote - the original contract said removal of astroturf, demo and hauling away debris.

We specifically had him come to get a quote on mainly removing the sand base - we showed it to him (he later said we had not). My wife spoke with Eric who was rude, arrogant and unwilling to let my her get a word in, and she finally asked him not to return and said that we would pay for the first portion of the job and call it a day. Eric repeatedly told us that this is why he doesn't take on small jobs - but in our opinion, if you take on a small job you should do the job right and be honest (or don't accept the job).

We could not believe that Eric Soholt would speak to his customers in such a manner. We told Eric that we were not going to pay anymore than the quote. Roy stopped work and our backyard was a pile of sand. A day later Eric contacted us and said he wanted to finish our job. Eric said he would not charge us the extra fee. We agreed and work continued.

I noticed that the planter where I wanted to put Roses was not completed, (sand not removed and drip lines not installed). We had, before the start of the project, adjusted the contract with Eric and taken out some of the original landscaping to fit within our budget. However, the drip lines and rose garden were still included in our final contract.

He said he "had meant to take that part out." When Eric Soholt did his walk through with me I pointed out that the job wasn't complete. Eric became upset, yelled at me and told me he was going to start paperwork to start a Lien on my house. WOW! I told him that we were not asking for anything more than what was in the contract that both parties had signed.

I was holding my eight-month old baby in my arms while he argued with me, so I calmly told him to go ahead and start the lien if that's what he felt he had to do, but I would not pay the final bill until the work was complete, as per the contract. A few days later the office contacted us and said they would finish the job. The crew had not removed the sand from the rose bed, but tired of arguing, I got up early and removed it myself.

They returned to finish the job, but the drip lines still do not work correctly. We paid our bill anyway and will just fix them ourselves as we were tired dealing with them. It took Soholt landscaping about five weeks to finish a job that should have taken about a week. The job was managed poorly from start to finish by Eric Soholt and the fact that he threatened to put a lien on my house for not doing work per his contract was atrocious.
