Deep Root Fertilization uses a special wand to inject a blend of tree fertilizer about 4-6 inches below the surface of the soil. As most feeder roots lie within the in first 12 inches of soil, the tree fertilizer is optimally placed. We use a custom-made special blend consisting of essential nutrients, trace metals, organic matter, and root growth enhancers is injected directly into a tree's root system. Professional fertilization helps plants and trees survive compaction and drought stress. Your plants will bloom better and thrive.
An under-performing tree that does not have any growth from year to year and seems to be 'frozen in time' needs to be air-spaded so that the root structure can be examined. Landscapers' most common misstep is to leave newly planted nursery stock in the burlap sack or wire basket that encloses the root ball.

We would have never known that our tree had a Beatle infestation untill it was too late if Sterling Tree and Lawn didn't point it out to us and treated it. They are such experts. Hard to find landscapes like them let me tell you.

Critical: Quality What a horrible experience with this company. I would never use them, nasty workers & inappropriate behavior. Craig James is extremely unprofessional. Look elsewhere.

I travel a lot and don't have time to take care of my property the way it should be. I let Sterling Tree handle all the landscaping and I never have to worry about it. My property looks good all year round.

These guys are amazing. They transported a 20 ft tree for me from Long Island all the way down to Brooklyn. No one else was even willing to do the job but Sterling tree got it done. It wasn't cheap but they did exactly what we needed and with great care to the tree.

We had Sterling Tree transplant a beautiful fruit tree to our property and do some deep root fertilization to strengthen our trees and improve our soil. This is a great tree and lawn company to work with.

Upon being hired to inspect the work environment at sterling i am not to sure their practices are considered legal. Employees are to arrive at startling hours in the morning and are not released until a given 12 to 13 hours later. Their staff look very questionable, they have the vow of working with professional arborists but i observed that these guys most likely struggled just to get a work visa.

I do not believe these men are arbor or osha certified. I am concerned about the unfair practices forced upon employees with the threat of fire. Based on the topical observation i've made, this company requires immediate further investigation.

Sterling is by far one of the most knowledgeable, down-to-earth, professional individuals I've met. As a business owner myself, I understand how important it is to maintain a professional, iron-clad reputation. Sterling Tree & Lawn does a great job at that without a doubt. I highly recommend that everyone give them a call.

Called for an estimate. Needed them at my place so my wife and I could be there when estimate or work is done. Well, they don't work friday afternoons or saturdays. And, get this--Jennifer, their receptionist, told me, rather nastily--they don't remove or cut down trees. Really?! An arborist who won't fell a tree? As a result of my original review, the owner contacted me, upset I'd "bashed" his company. I've upgraded the review, but stand by my lower grading for the company due to the either poorly-trained or just plain poor receptionist.

If she'd told me the reason why they could not accommodate me, I would have understood and moved on. Sterling does have a nice series of videos and plant/tree health info, but they aren't a full-service company, which they do not state on the website. For fertilization or disease treatment, they may be OK. The "damage control" attempt by the owner was meaningful, but he never addressed anti-business attitude of the person who answered the phone.

Rule #1 for customer service, or making callers into customers: Be polite. Rule #2: Be informative. Rule #3: If you don't know what you are talking about, put someone on the phone who does.
