We are proud to announce that we won three major awards from the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA). We earned first place at this year's CLCA East Bay Chapter Annual Awards in the category for Small Commercial Maintenance. We were not always the comprehensive landscape management company we have grown to become today. TREE SCULPTURE was founded and named in 1965. This was actually six years before Craig Lundin, current president and CEO, became the owner.

This is the first time I am leaving a review on Yelp. It was such a pleasant experience to work with the Terra Landscape crews, so we decided to write our very positive impression about their business. We've contacted several tree service companies to get an estimate and compared to other two companies, Dan from the Terra Landscape was the most professional, courteous and provided us a lot of information, so we decided to work with them. Dan also brought in Sergio to look at several other trees.

We have observed the crew while they were working and we were so impressed with their skill, carefulness and teamwork. I asked one of the crew how many years he has been doing this work and he said 20 years! No wonder he was so good at it. Thank you for providing us such a great work and experience!

We asked for guidance about the best time of year to prune several different species of trees. They arrived on the appointed date and set to work. As they pruned each tree or section they would go back and review the overall aesthetics and would often make minor additional cuts to achieve the best possible results. Their work was outstanding and we now get to enjoy our "new" garden every day. As though this was not enough they did an amazing job cleaning up the garden when they finished.

A dilemma faced by landscape maintenance organizations like Terra is providing skilled workers for an entry level business. Once a worker gets field experience and skills the worker will seek a higher paying job such as in landscape planting work. Further, the need for maximizing profits is incentive for the field labor and field supervisors to cut corners under the pressures from management.

The result is 2 stars on a scale of 5. The need is for the landscape maintenance firm or the property owner to do walk throughs of the property weekly and make lists of work orders to solve problems as they occur. Then, of course, training of labor is very important and that means supervision. The large volume maintenance contractor like Terra just cannot meet these challenges.

Their work is poor. The Owners are really not happy nor willing to pay for more work by a higher quality labor force and the condo owners in a Common Interest Develop (CID) live with just barely passing work. Probably the smaller firm with an active owner who is daily on the job is the solution for landscape maintenance contractors. Also breaking a Home Owners Association into two or more parts with different landscape maintenance contractors competing should work. You pay the money so you should make the rules.

Excellent customer service! Dan evaluated our trees and bushes and gave us options for our back and front yards, pricing out each removal and pruning, so that we could decide what fits our budget and priorities. The crew is top-notch: clean, professional, and fast. Dan came by our home during the 3 day job (we had 8 trees removed and 6 overgrown oleander bushes removed also, stumps ground, and the rest of the trees were pruned beautifully) to check on us and banter with his crew. They made the 3 days enjoyable. Very nice and professional people who know their stuff.

Our hundred year old house has some wonderful old trees that had previously endured inept pruning. The arborists at Tree Sculpture have gently nursed them back to handsome health. We have found the entire staff at Tree Sculpture to be unfailingly competent, prompt and a real pleasure to work with, and we recommend them without reservation.

Tree Sculpture serves our HOA and I highly recommend their services. I recently worked with Cassidy and the team on the makeover of my front yard. Cassidy and Javier worked to balance my wishes as a homeowner while meeting HOA requirements. The installation team was great and I'm now enjoying a lovely new landscape! Many thanks, Tree Sculpture!

Tree Sculpture Group is the PREMIER tree business of the Bay Area. I grew up here and know MANY of TSG's satisfied customers, including my own family and several of my neighbors! This is a family owned and operated business. They do EXCEPTIONAL work and genuinely care about the health of your trees. I would highly recommend them for anyone who has any kind of tree needs.

The tree crews are a bunch of great guys and I would trust them with absolutely anything. Also, I have seen them respond promptly in emergencies when there have been major storms or fallen trees. They really go the extra mile for their clients. For some reason, this business is an example of how Yelp's algorithm does not work effectively. If you look in the "not recommended" review section (below) you will see that there are MANY legitimate glowing reviews for Tree Sculpture.

It seems that since much of their client base consists of people who don't normally dabble in the world of social media etc, they created yelp accounts specifically to talk about their experience with TSG and were filtered out. FOR SHAME! Anyway, I would definitely encourage you take a minute to look at those reviews as well.

We have worked off and on with Tree Sculpture over the last ten years. They give great advice and don't push their services beyond what's necessary. They also give you ideas on what you can do yourself to help or save costs. We were essentially given a menu with items we could pick and choose from, based on our pretty limited budget, and then do the rest ourselves. We have really enjoyed working with Dan. He is very personable and intelligent, and gave it to us straight about a sick tree that I'm very fond of.

Very knowledgeable with great customer service. They did not just trim the trees away from the house and garage, they took the time to thin them out as well. We had an apple tree that was very crooked, and somehow they were able to trim it in a way that makes it look straight. "Tree Sculpture" is a good name for this company.

I recently called Tree Sculpture and spoke with Dan. I needed some help with pests in 2 trees along my sidewalk. When I described the problem and asked if the company could fix it, Dan said he thought I could manage it myself and he took considerable time to explain exactly what product to use, and how to do it. He essentially talked me out of using their services because it wasn't really nececessary.

It is an unusual business person to be that ethical and also helpful, and that seems rare these days. When I need more work with trimming or any other of the services that Tree Sculpture offers, I will definitely call them, and ask for Dan. I recommend them highly. Lynn W.

Tree Sculpture did an amazing job on our redwood trees and a beautiful tree in front of our home. With their help our home has more curb appeal and the trees are healthier. Dan was very easy to work with. I highly recommend Tree Sculpture!
