Established in 1992, we are a Design / Build / Maintain firm based in Galena, IL (just off the Mississippi and roughly three hours west of Chicago). We service the NW Illinois, SW Wisconsin and eastern Iowa area. Our work radius includes the Galena Territory, Apple Canyon Lake, Dubuque (IA) and Platteville (WI). As you may notice when you click around, our site is heavy on photos and light on explanations (if you have ever talked to Chris, you will find this rare economy of words refreshing). Surrounded as we are by the striking elevation changes of the scenic Galena / Tri - State area, our designs strive to preserve and accentuate the nature of each client's property. Our chief quibble with most of the landscapes we come across is clutter. The eye and the mind and the soul are not put at ease by these plans (or lack of plans).
In speaking with a colleague last week, we were discussing some new paving product being peddled by a reputable company. It has a nice-enough look and no doubt would look fine installed. Consider this though. Railroad ties and timbers were once "the thing." Remember the early concrete unit pavers? Exposed aggregate concrete with cedar decorative strips?
