We used Bud Twilley Landscapes to redesign our front and backyards, including addressing drainage issues and crumbling retaining walls. Bud was an incredible joy to work with! The design process was refreshing, as Bud not only listened to what we wanted, but also provided ideas that would SAVE us money! The overall design was a little high for our budget, so Bud helped us phase out the items to fit our cost and what would work best, which ended up being an incredible result.

The crew that worked on our house was professional, polite and tidy. They cleaned up everything every day, and were very aware that we had dogs, closing the gates to the backyard to ensure they would not get out. We could not be happier with how everything turned out, and neighbors from all around have stopped to take note of the dramatic transformation the front of our house has taken!

Funny. I love Bud as a person, and as a friend of the family for some odd 30 yrs, but my "experience after the sale" has been so challenging. I have tried for the last 4 months to get resolution to an issue that is still not resolved.7 of my plants installed (with irrigation installed by Bud's team) did not make it through the winter, and 2 more have scorched in the summer. I've asked for replacement at first, and then just to help me identify good replacements and I would plant them myself.and no movement.

At one point about 60 days ago, he came out and agreed that the plants didn't make it, but no communication since. I've sent emails, called, and left messages. Not sure where to go but hopeful he'll make it right in the meantime before I spend more money with yet another landscaper. The work done was really great and his foreman was top notch. Completed the work quickly and professionally.

I like Bud, and he does a ton of work in Barton Hills, but I wasn't able to get back in touch with him after the initial visit. He didn't follow up and I tried to ask a few questions through the office manager. Never heard back, and the bid was really high. I paid for the bid, but didn't get much more than that. It worked out because we found another company that got us taken care us for about half the price.

I have tried multiple times to look at his website, but the website link is nonexistent. Am I missing something or is he no longer in business?

Bud and his team have transformed our yard into the space that we always wanted. Wei, his project manager was always on site to answer any questions we had and to direct the day to day operations. His team was very respectful of our yard, cleaned up after themselves and were very hard working. Bud was here daily to check up, set the days tasks, and deliver beautiful plants.

We found them to be very professional, easy to work with and very responsive to any issues that sprang up. Bud's eye for aesthetics and knowledge of xeriscaping was very helpful when working with him on our overall design plan. We have worked with many professionals in the remodeling and upkeep of our house and found Bud Twilley Landscapes to be one of the most stress-free experiences that we have encountered.

Bud Twilley came to my home for a landscape design plan. I was informed of a 100$ design fee that would go towards my landscaping work. I finally received a plan a week after it was promised to me and it took multiple calls and emails to receive it. Once received, it was almost double the budget I had discussed with Mr. Twilley and it also contained multiple design ideas that I specifically did not want.

When I emailed Mr. Twilley asking for modifications to the plan based on my budget and ideas. He promptly responded stating he could not help me and referred me to another landscaper. This man obviously has a large ego and is not open to the client presenting their own ideas and working within a budget given. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM AS A LANDSCAPER. I have since received multiple bills for 100$, basically for this man to refer me somewhere else.

Bud designs beautiful landscapes. Unfortunately, that's where my praise ends. I spent thousands of dollars with Bud's business and just did not get the service I expected. His response time is slow. His communication skills are poor. It took several days to get calls returned, if at all, and he stood me up for appointments more than once.

He must not take good notes, because he follows through on only part of the plan. I felt like he didn't oversee the install of the landscape because the plant spacing was poor and as the plants have grown has gotten only worse. Forget using any kind of electronic communication. He does not use email and only has a receptionist in the office 3 days per week. Bud himself seems like a nice guy and I really want to like him, but his business skills are weak.
