In 1987, Zamora Sod Farm was born from the purchase of over 250 acres along the Sacramento River in Butte City, Ca. The rich river loam, (known as Zamora loam) proved to be excellent for producing turf. As Northern California grew so did the need for sod. In 1994, Zamora Sod grew as well with the expansion of another sod farm, again, on the Sacramento River in Anderson, Ca. just south of Redding. This enabled Zamora Sod Farms to reach customers from the Sacramento Valley to the Oregon border and from Reno to the west coast.

This sod is incredible! Since this is the first lawn I've had, I managed to over water it and turned it brown, then I under watered it and it turned brown, but now that I've figured out a good watering system, it's perfect. All brown spots are gone and I have a perfectly green yard! I ordered Premium RTF watersaver blend. It only needs to be watered every other day for about 20 minutes and I live where summer temps hit 109! If you're on the fence about where to purchase your sod, look no further, you're right where you need to be

Price was competitive, but the install and their customer service was very poor. I could have done a better job with zero experience. Once I had paid them they wouldn't respond back to my questions and concerns. They didn't cut out around half of the sprinklers so when I turned on the sprinklers the first time it lifted up the sod in several areas.
They completely covered over 2 water drainage caps which I had to go and relocate and expose. After 5 weeks my front yard is still not taking root. They also left no instructions on proper watering. Makes you wonder who was the install guy that looked everything over and said that looks good and got in his truck. I would highly consider researching other sod installers before using Zamora.
