Xeriscape Design is a woman owned waterwise landscape design firm. We work primarily along the Wasatch front and in the Wasatch Mountain valleys of northern Utah. We have been in business since 1996 and were one of the first xeriscape landscape companies in Utah. In 2017 we narrowed our services to focus on the heart of our mission and passion - design and education.

With a combined total of 38 years in the field as design-build landscape contractors we have the background, hands-on experience and knowledge to design waterwise projects that will thrive and endure.

What is Xeriscape

The word 'xeriscape' is derived from the Greek word 'xeros' meaning dry and was coined by the Denver Water Board to describe a type of landscaping that would be appropriate for the arid West. Design for low maintenance, plant trees to shade buildings and most importantly group plants by water needs.

Even the most drought tolerant plants need water during the hot months of the summer particularly during the first three years when new plants are getting established, and during times of unusual heat and drought. Over the years of installing and maintaining drip systems we have learned how to design thoughtful drip systems that ensure the survival of our plantings while saving water. Can be artfully set up to give each plant exactly the water it needs to thrive through careful emitter arrangement and lay-out.
