Behrens Landscaping, Inc. was established in 1981 by Michael and Carrie Behrens. It was started as a landscape maintenance company and soon evolved to include all aspects of landscape services. We moved to our present location in October of 1989 and started the retail supply section of our business. We service many residential and commercial properties in the northwest suburban area.We sell landscape supplies to area landscape companies as well as area homeowners. Behrens Landscaping, Inc. is a full service landscape company and retail landscape supply yard.

Use our mulch calculator to calculate necessary yardage. 1 yard of mulch covers approximately 100 sq. Premium Hardwood Mulch is a triple processed oak blend. This mulch is cocoa brown in color and does extremely well with keeping down the weeds due to its heavy weight. It is consistently the landscapers favorite.
Coated and Uncoated Grass Seed

It is a special protective coating that keeps the grass seed moist during the germination process. Grass seed that is coated is a more expensive but is more forgiving if you have a challenge keeping the seed moist. It provides about half the amount of coverage as uncoated seed per pound. However, it does have a better germination rate.

Organic simply means without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage, genetically modified ingredients or ionized radiation. If you are looking for pesticide free topsoil you need to find a supplier that knows if pesticides have been applied and has the certificate to proof it. That can be very difficult and expensive.
