Independent farmers have carefully tended a tract of property located in the "Blue Hill Land" of Milton for hundreds of years. The Thayer family took up farming on Hillside Street, named for being literally on the 'side' of Blue Hill in the 1700's. The Thayer's farmed the land for generations. Including Henry, who in 1879, returned to Milton to continue his family legacy by engaging in floriculture where he successfully raised flowers for the Boston flower market. The farm stayed in the Thayer family until Robert Oldfield bought the property in 1963.
Plant Material
Report
Have you ever noticed that some flowers need to be planted each year, while others pop up all by themselves? Annuals have great value in all gardens; they are quick to fill empty spots in flowerbeds, and make great additions to container gardens. If you tend to have commitment issues, annuals are for you.
Soil Amendments

NutriMulch is a blend of native Maine bark and compost. It is non-dyed with a naturally dark, rich texture. It is "Nutrient Stabilized" which means the bark does not compete with your plants for nutrients because the compost feeds both. It naturally decomposes so unlike traditional mulches, you do not have to remove it prior to next year's application.
