Bored with the usual offerings, we started growing unusual flowers for our clients in our small home greenhouse that Reg had built. I (Terry) would scour every seed catalog and whatever was different, I would order and grow. New introductions? A new color, size or heirloom seed? Those were the qualities that caught my eye as well as feeding my own craving for uncommon annuals.

It is hard to believe that it has been over25 years! Reg's dream to have a little nursery tucked in the trees in his hometown of East Falmouth has grown to what it is today. Fueled by Terry's interest in unusual plants, the nursery is now a destination for all gardeners. Keeping checking The Latest Dirt to be the first to know what's coming off the trucks and seasonal specials!.

On our team, some have degrees, a few are Massachusetts Certified Horticulturists, all have decades of experience in the plant trade and as avid gardeners. Soares is excited to announce the return of the Vegetable Garden Intern Program. This program is designed to give BEGINNING gardeners the opportunity to work with Marte Ayers at our vegetable garden at Soares Flower Garden Nursery on Sandwich Rd for the 2022 season. Marte is a skilled gardener and beekeeper who grew up on a Vermont farm.
