From the day we began building gardens in 1972, Kurisu has addressed a unique social purpose. We believe encounters with nature to be essential to mental, physical, and spiritual equilibrium. Our gardens reinforce the quality of humanity which our speed and information obsessed society often elides. Our vision: to create restorative experiences which demonstrate the necessity of natural places to individual and collective wellbeing. Over 4 years in the making, this 8.5-acre landscape uniquely brings together the art of the garden and the art of sculpture at this world-class institution.
