One Earth Landscape

We are One Earth Landscape, a design-build landscape construction company based in Boulder, Colorado, incorporated in 1993. Our owner, James Zarka, is a trained landscape architect who has been designing landscapes since 1978, bringing over 45 years of combined operational and design expertise to every project. We specialize in sustainable landscape solutions including xeriscape design, native plant selection, green construction, and drought-tolerant, water-efficient plantings that minimize water waste. Our full suite of services covers landscape design, construction, irrigation, planting, garden and lawn maintenance, boulder setting, water features, masonry, outdoor lighting, excavation, and snowplowing. We serve clients across Boulder County, including Louisville, Longmont, Lafayette, Broomfield, Golden, Superior, and Lyons, as well as surrounding areas. Our design-build model ensures our in-house designers and craftsmen collaborate through every phase of a project to deliver consistent quality, accuracy, and alignment with client goals.

We prioritize creating lasting beauty and value for each client by integrating natural site resources with their unique budgetary, functional, and aesthetic objectives. Our team has completed approximately $12 million in residential, governmental, and commercial design and construction projects for a diverse portfolio of public and private clients. We hold a Gold Star Certificate from the Better Business Bureau for zero complaints in the last three years, reflecting our commitment to client satisfaction and ethical business practices. We provide full transparency for prospective clients, including access to references and a detailed portfolio of past projects upon request. Our owners professional background includes co-authoring a published book, authoring and illustrating another landscape design resource, and instructing landscape architecture courses at Naropa University. We are dedicated to delivering unique, high-quality landscape projects that meet each clients specific needs while promoting environmentally responsible practices.
