                    Why Plant Native Plants
                                                                                        Report

Gateway Garden Center is committed to helping you have a positive impact on the environment. What better way than to support the local fauna than by planting local flora? Plants like Echinacea and native grasses that add goregous color and texture to the garden are an important food source for birds in the later months.

A: Hydrangeas require differing pruning times; therefore, it is critical to know which type you have before you prune. In addition to using the techniques explained below, always remove any winter-damaged branches in early spring. The smooth hydrangea (Hydrangea arborescens) flowers on new wood and should be pruned down hard to 1 foot in early March.
