Questions
Do you remove trees in exchange for the lumber value?
We do not offer credit for lumber value due to operational costs exceeding typical wood market prices. Complete removal services available at standard rates.
Can you mill trees on my property?
Yes, our portable sawmill services allow on-site lumber processing. We bring equipment to transform felled trees into custom slabs and dimensional lumber at your location.
What wood types are available for lumber?
We process walnut, maple, oak, cherry, pine, and specialty woods like honey locust. Each species offers unique grain patterns and durability characteristics for different applications.
Do you sell standard construction lumber?
We specialize in custom-cut lumber rather than standard dimensional lumber. For common building materials, we recommend home improvement stores for cost-effective options.
What landscaping services do you offer?
Full landscaping services including design, installation, and maintenance. Specializing in deer-resistant plantings, hardscaping with natural stone, and mulch application using locally sourced materials.
How is firewood pricing determined?
Firewood prices reflect current market rates for seasoned hardwoods. We offer face cord measurements with delivery and stacking options. Pricing updates occur every 8 years to maintain service quality.

I went here to purchase a 2 inch thick maple slab for a workbench top I am building. The owners are a small local business. Friendly, knowledgeable, and had what I wanted at a good price.

You couldn't ask for a better company to complete your tree removal and landscaping needs! Capital Sawmill removed a huge walnut tree and a 60 foot pine, ground the stumps, and trimmed several pine and deciduous trees on my property. The crew was courteous and cleaned up each day leaving no debris behind. They cleared a patchy area of my lawn, delivered mounds of dirt, planted 4 mature Spruce trees and transplanted a rhododendron to the newly landscaped area. The work was professional and the results look fabulous!

Capital Sawmill has done tree work for us at 3 different times. We needed tree and stump removal and extensive trimming on very old, large maples. Steve and his crew did a terrific job for us. The entire team was very pleasant, the price was fair and the crew cleaned the area of all brush. I would recommend Capital Sawmill very highly.
