North Star Landscape Design & Installation

Our landscape design service creates tailored outdoor environments using natural and man-made elements. We focus on functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability, ensuring each design aligns with client preferences and property characteristics. From initial sketches to final plans, our degreed architects deliver innovative solutions that enhance curb appeal and usability.

We design and install water features including ponds, waterfalls, and pondless waterfalls. These elements add visual interest and auditory tranquility to landscapes. Our team ensures proper integration with surrounding hardscapes and plantings, using construction expertise to create durable, low-maintenance water features that complement overall property design.

Our retaining wall services combine structural integrity with aesthetic appeal. Using materials like natural stone, concrete, and brick, we build walls that prevent erosion, manage water flow, and enhance property boundaries. Each installation is tailored to withstand local weather conditions while complementing landscape aesthetics.

We provide sod installation for instant lawn transformation. This service ensures even coverage, proper soil preparation, and establishment of healthy turf. Ideal for new properties or damaged lawns, our process delivers a lush, uniform appearance while improving soil stability and reducing maintenance needs.

Our irrigation design optimizes water efficiency for lawns and gardens. We create customized systems that deliver precise hydration to different plant zones. Using modern technology, we ensure even coverage, minimize waste, and integrate seamlessly with existing landscapes for sustainable, low-maintenance watering solutions.

Dana did a great job suggesting a variety of plants to fit our need to update our curb appeal and screen a generator best we could. They did the work as promised and on budget. Very excited to see everything in full bloom next next. Service: Installation

I am very impressed and satisfied with my experience with North Star! Dana did a great job in creating an imaginative landscape design and was very responsive to my comments and suggestions. They've been very dependable in terms of their ongoing maintenance visits and open to special projects like dealing with a spreading vine that was consuming a bunkhouse on the property. North Star is a professional high quality company that's a pleasure to deal with.

Was very pleased with my backyard landscape, The job was done in about 3 days and it was just as they had sketched it out for me. Great Job! have already recommended them to my friends. Thank you for a job well done! Service: Installation

Dana and her staff did a wonderful job for us redesigning our garden, obtaining plants, and then planting them. North Star is responsible, creative and reliable. I recommend them enthusiastically. Service: Installation

We worked with Northstar to refurbish our backyard area landscape design, plant selection and installation. This was a bare ground up project. The design and plant selection development was spot on for our vision of the area. The actual installation went well, was quick and professional. The end result is an area that will mature and we will enjoy for years to come. Communication and follow up support was very good. We are very pleased with the result and are planning another project for the near future. We would easily recommend to others.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. They are great at making nice proposals, charging high prices and having you sign contracts full of all of the things they are not responsible for. We thought we were paying more for quality when we hired them for our home in Cassopolis MI. We ended up with a crooked wall (which they were paid to fix in the first place) and a landscape bed full of incredibly invasive weeds, which never existed on the property, after they cleared and reinstalled the entire area!

We received ongoing broken promises to come back and deal with this "horsetail" weed which had now spread over the entire area. At the end of it all, a year later, we were told they will NOT come back as they are too busy with other customer commitments and gave us email of how we can fix it ourselves and advice to hire someone else to fix it! NEVER AGAIN will we consider this company. Highly recommend people look elsewhere.
