Started in 1989 by two graduates of the University of Maryland, we're a small, locally-owned landscape business offering highly personalized services for all your landscaping and outdoor construction needs. Our team has now grown to include Landscape and Construction professionals to help with all levels of service. For more than 30 years, we've offered two major residential landscape specialties- complete Design/Build services, and Comprehensive Landscape Maintenance plans.

Jeff is the founder and driving force behind As You Like It Landscaping. He's a graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Horticulture and Design. He started his company while he was still a student, and has been growing AYLI from a small maintenance business to the niche design/build and estate maintenance company of today ever since.

In 1985, Jeff Aronson (than a kid in high school) had the opportunity to start working on a number of local gardens. While this included manicuring some lawns, the bulk of the work was actual vegetable bed and garden preparation for family friends that could no longer tolerate the labor involved with the cultivation of a garden.

Our team will help you realize the full potential of your space, considering your project within the context of your greater landscape.
Design/Build Process

We'll match your requirements with one of our designers who will contact you to schedule an on-site consultation. Our goal during your consultation is to assess your existing site conditions, identify your goals, and determine your project scope and design fees. Any existing grading, irrigation, lighting, or other helpful construction plans of your property.
